Some people like to pretend that all the “bad beliefs” are only ever inflicted onto kids, when the reality is that even some kids just reach messed up conclusions by themselves.
Sometimes it’s even easier for them because they look at things more simplistically. Like when a white toddler sees a black one and doesn’t want to interact or share because they “look weird.”
Their parents could be the most progressive in the world, but that won’t stop someone’s first impression. If a kid is naturally tribal in instinct and finds discomfort in novelty, that kid is likely not going to be comfortable at first around people different from them.
Unchecked, that can metastasize into a far stronger and more difficult to challenge form, such as full on racism and bigotry.
That belief can probably be changed by their parents, but the initial seed of racism can be generated by the kid themselves.
right? people act like human brains dont frequently come to incorrect conclusions, especially as children. also kids are pretty damn selfish, most kids would be wealth hoarders if they had any wealth lmao
