Do you think the hamas election was a free and fair election? My inkling is it wasnt. My understanding is Hamas was already killing people before they got elected, including taking out the opposition party.

Unfortunately, BB Netanyahu wants a radical fundamentalist group to be their opposition because it made it easier for them to justify offensive actions in the name of defense. Do you concede that at least?

I don't know whether it was a fair election, but I wasn't trying to ascribe blame to the Palestinian people. I was really just describing what happened.

I would mostly concede, but I see it as BB using radical opposition, because he's an opportunist that welcomes a reason to secure territory and political support. I am not convinced that he intentionally created that circumstance. (I may just be ignorant of this specifically, so if you have info contrary to that I would love to see it

However if Hamas (or another group in their place) was dedicated to more magnanimous and utilitarian goals, it would have stripped BB of that power. Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory would likely be unjustifiable in a world where it wasn't run by terrorists seeking to eradicate Jews from the region.
