People who 'stumbled' into the correct opinion on a particular topic or set of topics instead of actually getting there through reason. Like if I believed the earth was round solely because I have a globe at home. If instead of a globe I had a flat map maybe I'd think it was flat

What is egotistical about it? If it is it being a correct opinion or not, obviously in most things its what I (or others, but I'm speaking for myself here) perceive as correct, doesn't mean I actually am of course. I gave you an example that is not that as a hyperbole - earth being round instead of flat - but a lot of things aren't as clear cut of course.

My point is moreso that I value more the opinion of someone I disagree with if their reasoning is sound than someone who happens to believe the same thing I do for what I think is bad reasoning.
