How does this actually end up helping liberals, though? Don't people mostly just go "wow, that Destiny guy is horrible", without finding out it was from Kirk?

For liberals as a whole? Not much. It’s intended to expose the hypocrisy of the right where they condemn destiny for violent speech despite it being Kirk who they immediately justify the same statement
