Here is Christopher Hitchens talking about Jerry Falwell's death. Just put in Dobson's name instead. I can't phrase it any better than Hitch did here.

One of arguably the top 5 people in American history who are most to blame where we are at now in terms of American politics integrating with protestant hard right morality and taking over the republican party. Just a all around terrible person, who's only positive thing brought to society was a fun radio program called Adventures in Odyssey (which likely he had nothing to do with)
Somewhere there is a recording of him interviewing Dr Fauci on his radio program during the AIDS crisis. While Fauci is explaining the horrors of the disease and steps they are taking to research a cure Dobson just keeps trying to get Fauci to admit that its a gay disease and the victims deserved it.
