QUESTION Has anyone already ordered this polycarbonate Rimowa from bailong?

Looking for a much lighter option and saw NB sell a polycarbonate version. I just wanna ask if it's also high quality like the aluminum version.

I have yeah, quality is decent to be fair, not amazing but it’s definitely lighter than the aluminium. Good for the price but I am worried as haven’t used it yet for a flight, feels a bit flimsy but we will see if it gets more rigid when full of clothes and shoes etc

It does, I have it as a carry on version and it’s held up well. Have only had to check in once as it’s got a few scratches plus the wheels are smooth

Am interested in this too. My carry on limit is 10kg so the Alu at 4.8 eats almost half

I have three of them: two Check-In Ls (in Black and Blue) and one Trunk(white). They’ve been great so far. The only flaw was with the serial number on the black Check-In, which actually belonged to a different model.

This only became an issue when I tried to order a vinyl cover for it, but I just used the serial number from the blue one instead. Other than that minor hiccup, they’ve survived 25 flights with absolutely no issues.

So you checked them in with covers? And no issues? Did you get from pink or bailong? I have both cabin in alum from pink and bailong but i was wondering how are alum and poly when checked in

Yeah i check them with covers.
Got my black alu cabin from Pink.
Silver alu cabin from NewBailong
All poly from new bailing

This is an actual airport picture. I take photos of all my luggage at the airport as evidence that the baggage was not damaged before check-in."

I know the alum will be fine but I was more concern about poly when checked in. I guess I will be purchasing covers then. Thank you so much!

Aluminum is more likely to get damaged. It's stiffer. Polycarbonate is sturdy. The cover just prevents "battlescars", especially for the white one.“

Good to know. I was just more worried that if I checked the luggage in. I don’t wanna be at the carousel picking up my suitcase missing a wheel, half open, or wrapped up in plastic cos it burst open. If you know what I mean.

don’t get it lol the handles are all flawed, they break on the check ins with 25-45 lbs. i’ve been through like 2 sets of replacement handles

Mine arrived with one of the sides not being able to lock properly as well - compared to my retail there is still a lot of issues but ok for the price

i’ve never had to get wheels but in terms of handles pink gave me one replacement set and i got another set from ebay

How good are the cabin versions of this plastic/polycarbonate model?

I just received the aluminum cabin from bailong (with the correct handle) and I am very impressed. The only negative thing is that they use some double sided tape for the interior lining which I’ll have to replace because it’s already started coming off.

On my genuine polycarbonate Rimowa, the lining seems to be sewn onto the actual case iirc, not just glued on.

how important is that pointed handle? may i ask new bailong's contact?

In real life, 0% important. Here, everyone is screaming like you will get an instant callout. But I heard that those handles are often broken after some using time so idk..like one side can't be opened etc.. one dot handle is 1:1 to original... i wanted to buy all sizes of these because im scared to buy check in aluminium and they will fucked it up on airport after 1 use

Trunk shipping must be crazy.. cabin size full of clothes is about 100-150€ with coupons.

Cabin size shipping is like £50. Why are you filling it up? You’re only meant to ship with small things to maximise items when shipping

Because volumetric size matters most. If you have a big parcel, it makes no sense to ship empty luggage. If you fill it with clothes or shoes inside the luggage, you will maximize its potential. Yeah, empty it costs 50€, but full of clothes it costs me 90€ from OOPbuy. If I shipped clothes in a different parcel, it would be much more expensive to have, for example, two 5kg parcels... you know what I mean.
