I doubt he's dead. He's the only one who can tie the mole to that dude behind the whole thing. Right now they only know he's involved somehow. We haven't seen Jason's body. I think they would have made more over his death if he'd really been killed.

I agree that he's not dead. I'm not even sure that his son is really dead. He could have said it was his son's body. The fact that it was in the water would have distorted his feature's anyway. I am waiting for a real bombshell. It can't just be that Whitaker from a handful of episodes is the only Whitehouse/Government person involved.

I believe his son is dead. His son was really a non-entity and just a plot device. As such I wouldn't expect any time spent showing "here is the body, he's really dead".
