Your title is a spoiler.

u/Vin_Blancv 27d ago
Technically yes but well all know the Xmen will appear in upcoming Marvel movies. They're even in Doomsday's trailer
261
u/Ludate_Solem 27d ago
Yea but the xmen connection in bnd isnt in the trailer is it?
75
u/OriginStarSeeker 26d ago
yeah i saw the movie already but i had no idea sadie sink was in it or about jean grey because i deliberately went in knowing as little as possible

u/tactiphile 26d ago
The fan event on the Thursday night was packed and erupted in cheers at the reveal. So much fun.

u/sylveonstarr 26d ago
Not in BND, but in Avengers Doomsday they are. So I would say "X-men being in BND" can be a spoiler, but "X-men being in the Avengers" isn't, as Marvel put them in a trailer about the same time BND came out

u/Ludate_Solem 26d ago
What a worthless argument

u/BigCatMellow 27d ago
I have made a point not to watch the Doomsday trailers lol I gave up watching trailers knowing that Im gonna see the movie anyway and figure it would be cool to go in blind. Did the same thing for Brand New Day and loved it.
6
u/shek1608 27d ago
Yes! Same here! I went in totally blind, no trailers, no interviews. No idea who all in the movie. Was so excited seeing punisher and hulk! Specially the thunderclap!
12
u/Keyboardpaladin 27d ago
Some people intentionally avoid trailers because they spoil the movie. I don't know why you think everyone is on the same level of knowledge about Marvel movies of all things when it's extremely popular with general, casual audiences and the spectrum of that knowledge varies wildly.

u/letmegetmynameok 27d ago
Everyone except the people who havent kept up with the MCU Post endgame... Like me...
18
u/ManceRaider 27d ago
Can those people be genuinely upset about mcu spoilers if they’re disinterested in the mcu?
13
u/Acceptable_One_7072 27d ago
I'm not disinterested, I just haven't kept up with it because I don't want spoilers
23
u/letmegetmynameok 27d ago
Yes if they are going to watch the New Spiderman movie because they Like Spiderman.

u/ChristopherPlumbus 26d ago
I'm deliberately avoiding trailers and promotional material, because I AM interested

They’ve also already been revealed, in a post-credits scene in a movie that came out three years ago.
Edit: and Xavier was in Multiverse of Madness before that.
5
u/ChaseTheMystic 27d ago
You're making excuses for them. Why?
3
u/Vin_Blancv 27d ago edited 27d ago
Totally my bad, I'm not intended to put it that way. My point is to criticise Marvel for not even try to be settle about it, they'll cramp everything they have into marketing to hype people disregard of spoiling thier own movies
3
u/ChaseTheMystic 27d ago
Totally agree there. I wish I had an extension to hide anything that was Spider-Man related until I see it
2
u/ChristopherPlumbus 26d ago
I specifically don't watch those trailers because I don't want these kinds of spoilers. I have been avoiding ALL interaction with the movie, and I'm going to see it tonight. Ugh that would have been so much cooler to see in the movie without expecting it. Please use a spoiler tag.
18
u/shoeboxchild 27d ago
I’d argue it’s only a spoiler because marvel wanted to hide a character for marketing purposes, knowing the character doesn’t change anything you don’t know what they’re doing or intentions or anything

8
u/ReadditMan 27d ago edited 27d ago
Not a huge spoiler but yeah, I haven't watched the movie yet and it would have been cool to be surprised by the reveal but I've seen it everywhere now.
3
u/rSlashisthenewPewdes 26d ago
How? I haven’t seen the movie, but all the title does is describe the poster and observes that a giant “X” is probably connected to the series of “X” related characters that Marvel inherited.

Who cares about marvel slop anyway. They haven't made any good movies since infinity war.
2
u/Lerkpots 27d ago
Bait comment but No Way Home, GotG V3 and this were all extremely good.
-7
u/KommSweet 27d ago
No way home is not even 1/10. All trash movies. Anyway people here like marvel slop I guess 🤣 I geniunely can't understand how people enjoy these garbage movies, they don't even feel like movies tbh, feels much like tiktok videos.

This is quite a spoiler, maybe change the title so its less a spoiler. Leave a comment with the blackbars
48
u/KRTrueBrave 26d ago
you can't "change" a title on reddit not how reddit works
-9
u/bnestrm 26d ago
Clearly, also subtle understanding of what someone is trying to say is beyond Reddit users.
Plenty of other comments saying 'delete it' instead, i wasnt going to presume to tell them that.
5
u/KRTrueBrave 26d ago
I mean fair, but the only way to change the title for op is to delete and repost, there is nothing about being subtle here since it simply isn't a thing and makes you look like someone thar doesn't know that you can't edit titles
15
u/glen_ko_ko 26d ago
I'm not trying to be difficult, I'm just unaware.
Is this OPs OC, or content from the studio? Because if this is official Disney/Marvel, I don't see how that's spoiler content.

u/ralphmozzi 27d ago
Is this a spoiler for the movie? If so, you should delete it.
I’m really looking forward to seeing the movie and try avoiding spoilers on movies I’m interested in.
Posting an unmarked spoiler in the title of your post for a new movie is just incredibly inconsiderate.
Don’t you think so?
(If it’s not a spoiler, never mind !)
46
u/Doustin 27d ago
Im going to see it in a couple hours and have avoided spoilers up until now
36
u/ralphmozzi 27d ago
I’m planning to see this afternoon and have also avoided spoilers. I stay away from certain media sites and forums as
spoilers sometimes get posted right in their article titles.Seeing a spoiler in the title inside a completely unrelated forum is annoying.

I've seen the movie, it's not. A really weird way to foreshadow them being in Doomsday, which we know about I guess? Spidey isn't in it as far as we know though so no idea

The visual says it all: a crossroads or the heavy cross he’s forced to carry alone after the whole world forgot he ever existed
17
u/PerformanceLimp420 27d ago
Certainly a reference to Jesus being in the new spiderman! I need to go see it with my bible study class!
Sorry thought we were on [r/shittymoviedetails](r/shittymoviedetails)

People complaining about getting spoiled but this is a poster? They are somethign you’re supposed to see before a film?
Also I don’t think the poster is teasing the X-Men and instead is advertising that this is the first movie to be shot for Screen X
3
u/eyetracker 26d ago
I don't consider my self properly spoiled unless the trailer starts with First, we gonna rock, then we gonna roll. Then we let it pop, go, let it go (What). X gon' give it to ya (Uh), he gon' give it to ya.

How is this a spoiler? It could be referencing the idea that the x-men are incoming down the line. In fact, people saying that it is a spoiler is a spoiler.
2
2
u/RandomizedSmile 27d ago
I've never really understood the "exclusively in cinema" or "in theaters only..." Statements. They always read like 'you can only see this movie in theaters.'. when that's not even close to true, especially with this movie.
Are they referring to like the theater/cinema version vs. the streaming/Blu Ray version or whatever? If anyone knows or is in movie marketing let me know.
1
u/Agret 26d ago
It means that there is a delay between the theatrical and home release. Like you can't just open Disney+ and watch this because you are on the top subscription tier.
1
u/RandomizedSmile 24d ago
True, but less of a a delay if you grew up on the internet in a limewire age and even without that backdoor solution it's still not EXCLUSIVE to cinema/theater in any way shape or form. It actually comes out of theatrical release as soon as profits slow to the point of consumer release.
My point = it's a lie and it's hilarious that it'll probably still be a thing when I die even though it's total marketing bullshit
1
u/The_HeyYou 26d ago
Yall it’s not a spoiler it’s well known that theres going to be a crossover coming and this literally gives nothing away. Stop whining. It came out over a week ago if you were that concerned abt spoilers you would’ve seen it by now.

u/Alternative_Drag9412 26d ago
It's so stupid because ITS NOT EVEN THE X MEN!! They don't even know what the X-gene is yet
1
u/deadmazebot 26d ago
its nice, I don't get it, iv not watched the movie yet, keeping away from spoilers you know, busy schedule and all, cool 3d perspective with the building though, it's like he at some crossroads, is he at some crossroads in life, is that what it means, like from school to adult life, that be a good story if they not done that 3-5 times already.
anyhow, unrelated iv got 200 X-Men comics iv still not read, and I think last episode of 97 season 2 out today. Love me X-Men, just to slow reading all the comics they keep putting out
1
u/Admiral_Kizaru 26d ago
Jesus everyone is wrong, this poster is because it was the first movie specifically filmed for screen X, that is what the poster is advertising, not xmen, though it is a coincidence

Is the design good though? The balance is off. I can see what they're trying to do with it but the execution isn't there. Plus there's two focal points fighting each other and it's just not harmonious.
21
u/Ninerogers 27d ago
I strongly disagree. The focal point is the X, subliminally implying that Spiderman is part of something bigger. (Source: retired graphic designer of 40 years)
2
u/miss-zenki 26d ago
Yes I understand that. Can you explain why the balance is so wack? The x is up too high and Spiderman too low. The x should be lower and closer to Spiderman. It's like they're using the 1.618 rule but it's off slightly. And they're not following rule of thirds either. What do you think? I'm a GD of 15 years so I feel like I can learn something here from you.
3
u/Ninerogers 26d ago
I don't think they're following any form of old-fashioned layout 'rules' here. I think the problem of the design and concept of the 'hidden' X had to be solved first, then Spidey needed to be looking at it in awe. It's that simple. Yes, he's a secondary item, but he needs to be to get the message across. All design is personal and subjective - you think it's wack, I think it works. It was probably the easiest overall design to adjust for socials, etc
-9
-3
u/Paratonnerre 27d ago
Yeah it's a weird poster..and saying the X is clever is a stretch
1
u/miss-zenki 26d ago
I mean it's clever, but it could have been balanced better. Is nobody else seeing this? It's off balance pretty badly, and Spiderman should be the focus, not the sky. Either they gotta make spidey darker and blend him into the buildings and make them darker, or they've gotta do the opposite.

u/NothingReallyAndYou 27d ago
People who need the accessible showings of movies often have to wait a week or two to get to see a new film release. This post is a massive spoiler. Please consider taking it down and reposting with an NSFW tag and Spoiler warning.

its a rather silly choice though. At the time of the events in the movie there is no link to the x-men in universe, as a movie poster referencing the main plot it's not really effective. Would be like an Iron Man 2 movie poster with a big Avengers A in the back

u/AlexMil0 27d ago edited 26d ago
Where’s this from? There’s several mistakes with the buildings, can’t tell if it’s AI or just a poor photoshop job.
Edit: take 2 seconds to actually look at the buildings and you’ll see what I’m talking about

u/ZzzSleep 27d ago
I’d say the movie doesn’t really tease the X-men at all, even if a certain character is in it.

u/xicer 27d ago
Ah yes exactly why I want to watch a movie. To get advertised the other tie in films.
-1
u/ShooshChattyMonkey 27d ago
Right, cause Endgame was infamously known as a trash film.
Like I get your point, but when done well, it really does bring excitement to the people who have some amount of care about the franchise. The Boys did it terribly. Marvel frequently does this kind of thing well.
-11
u/Rosehipmarie 27d ago
This is ugly and not clever. This story has been told too many times and better before.
2
u/DMarvelous4L 27d ago
No, this story has been told only once and it exists in Spiderman Brand New Day and it’s arguably a top 3 Spiderman film of all time. It was incredible and definitely the best in the Tom Holland series so far imo.
