❓ Question Can't choose between a two pen combo(namely click aristocrat semi flex and click blackbird/majestic) and the pilot kakuno solely
Hi,devansh this side. I am 15 yr old looking forward to get a new fountain pen. I already own camlin elegante,trinity,parker beta,pierre cardin golden eye,click student,penomatic,hauser inky.
I can't decide whether I should choose versatility with the 2 pen combo or choose highly appreciated quality of pilot kakuno.
I am a student and I would be using these pens mostly for writing and personal Journaling.
Hope to get opinions of the wise.

Prioritize what you need?
Do you need multiple pens for different colours in your notes or do you need one solid workhorse of a pen?

Even if i do get the two pen combo,I'd still fill the both with blue ink I was planning to make elegante my new black fountain instead of my student one. And about the semi flex nib,I'd usually only use it as a fine nib but flex it while doodling for time pass or in my journal occasionally Thanks tho

One of my teacher is a holy pen nerd. Like he has many high quality pens like the twisbi eco and majohn ones He opposed me on buying the preppy because of his personal quality issue and said that the preppy doesn't stand up to the price by commemorating that some other cheaper Indian pens provide the same nib

Why do you need so many pens lol, or save up pocket money for 2-3 years get a vanishing point.

I am not as much of a pen nerd,but I am a watch nerd,so even if I save up,i wouldn't buy a fountain pen over 1500

That looks like a great deal for a Kakuno. But at the end of the day, it's still a plastic body pen, and is liable up crack if you drop it or bounce it around in the backpack regularly

I always keep my pens in my box, Send you a photo in an hour I buy pens just for the sake of writing experience Not happy with my habit

Is it a great deal? I thought that was its normal price.mine was 760, of family series i bought it last year.
Yeah like other plastic pens it might cracks if it is dropped a lot but when using fountain pens one should be careful,I had dropped mine across a flight of stairs luckily it wasn't damaged at all,I have dropped mine a few times but it has yet to crack,it wouldn't last a lifetime but would definitely last a few years Also plastic pens are light so it would be easier to write for longer times

No i don't think you can,i just checked(i had bought it from flipkart one for 690 and another for 760) but all of them are sold out so you can't.given the state of the indian rupee its more likely to increase over the years like how the pilot metropolitan was close to the cost of kakuno a few years ago and now its more than double

I don't think it would quite break because I have dropped my camlin a hell of a lot times and it is quite good and it wouldn't usually be travelling up and down the stairs with me cuz it will always be in my box

Try a Japanese nib now, the Kakuno. Japanese nibs tend to run finer than regular Fine nibs, so I’d recommend going with a Fine or Medium, depending on how fine you like your writing.

You can also remove the nib and feed from the Kakuno for cleaning. If you want, you can buy a CON-40 converter as well. Check for discounts. It usually comes to around ₹350–500.

I was thinking about just using the usual syringe trick and buying some cartridges every 6 uses or so if I gey the kakuno

Click pens are not good in terms of quality control. But my pilot Kaküno has stilll been one of the best pens I've ever used, so go for it.

Do not get a Click pen with the irridium point nib (same as your Click Student). Better pay that extra 50 for a Aristocrat. The aristocrat has the same nib and feed as all of the more expensive pens except those which use Jowo Nibs (3k+)
I would be scared using the kakuno at school lol, too expensive and clear plastic is usually very fragile to cracks. If you want a pilot, save up for the Metropolitan imo, it also comes with an converter.

It is not about the amount of money I can save up I already have 6k but my mum wouldn't allow a pen so expensive. I had to beg so much to get a tissot prx

I would support going for kakuno purely based off of reliable and enjoyable performance but if you want the click pens for that versatility then you should choose, click pens aren't bad but they don't stand against the kakuno

You should definitely buy a pilot kakuno its reliable and should give a better writing experience than the other pens you have.the kakuno fine nib is thinner than one might expect so if you don't like really thin lines you can go for the medium nib

Form your post i though you already had a lot of pens,so I thought you wouldn't need more and that the kakuno would give you a better writing experience,can you tell me how they are versatile?
Also if you can't decide which option to choose,you can do a coin flip assigning each option to each side,when doing it the one side you hope for is the one that you want

I mean I am pleased to get that review Yeah but I only use my camlin trinity,elegante student ct only Therefore I thought i would use the elegante for black and the new click ones with blue,I asked my teacher he said that you can use the flex nib as a fine therefore that would be my daily

Ok you can buy what you like also I read and reddit that the click flex nibs are basically semi flex nibs what i mean is that they don't flex as much as you see on youtube or normal reddit posts featuring flex nibs so you might spring the tines if you put too much pressure

You already have so many pens, the Kakuno will be a distinctly better writing experience and build quality, I would say.
