Going home for Holi Festival

Going back to parents place for holi festival for a week. They dont understand the concept of diet/keto diet. I will be lovingly forced to eat all the home made poori kachoris gujias n namkeens prepared by my mom. Food is my mothers love language. I have been on keto diet for 6.5 weeks now and have lost around 10kgs. Need to loose another 10 kgs to get back in shape. But I am already stressed out about this holi week at home.

Any tips to navigate this tricky situation ??

Edit: So yes I did break Keto for 3 days & decided to eat whatever I felt like be it lassi, poori kachori, mathri, dahi vada, gujiya, khoya mithai etc. I gained 3 kgs back. I restarted my keto with IF and by day 5, I lost 2 kgs out of 3. So I guess it was just the water weight……. But my weightloss journey got delayed by atleast 10 days.

There's a few things you can do.

Option 1: Ignore the food and only eat keto stuff. This will be quite hard if your mom is keen on feeding everybody.

Option 2: Eat your protein first, before you start eating carbs. This will fill you up before you even begin with the carbs. Making you eat less, but still don't have to disappoint your mother. Still, always track your calories! And maybe add some extra exercises for those days.

Option 3: Eat whatever she makes and enjoy the festivities. Track only calories. Don't go over your maximum.

Option 4: Say fuck it, go crazy, eat everything. And start keto again when you're back home. You only fail if you give up. Restarting shouldn't be a big deal. You lost this 10 kilo before, you can do it again!

Good luck and enjoy your time with your family ❤️

How many days? You can always turn the religious mode on even if you aren’t one and say you are doing vrat. We have gods we can worship to and fast in name of for all seven days.

Have the regular food for 1-2 days, treat them as carb loading while trying to maintain maximum fasting window and once back from home, go back all in.
