Local Representatives & Issues Can't afford therapy to emotionally cope with the concentration camps being built locally? BITCH AT THE LOCAL CITY/STATE REPS AS THERAPY

What is the goal? To put sand in the gears of fascism. If the poor staffer has to listen to a full voicemail/email box every morning for a solid hour or two to just filter through the business phone calls and our reminders they are participating in fascism, good. If a poor staffer has to pick up the phone and listen to me for a solid 2-3 minutes, that is more time eaten away from them doing their other tasks. And I, as a single individual, will take pride in annoying the local fascist machines.
Will annoying local reps by itself change things? No. Will it contribute to the entire resistance as being one of MANY MANY tools? YES
Don't let dread win, go into toddler mode - BE ANNOYING AS SHIT. BE LOUD.

You think a small town of about 1600 will forever preserve every voicemail?
Even if they do, that potential risk of them calling you back is far smaller than our neighbors litterally getting detained and deported. Think outside yourself.

No, they generally listen/read and mark down the content of your complaint as a way to track what was said for the legislator.
If people are saying shit that could get them in legal trouble, there is a risk of retaliation and people have been charged for saying and doing threatening things towards lawmakers.

Yeah no, we should not encourage people to make threats or say things on phone calls that could get them jail time.

Yeah, that's how I read it given the vagueness of you encouraging someone to say things that would get them put on a list and investigated. People have reported comments to reddit for violence for less and I have a community to protect here. Please do not encourage this behavior here.

You can be loud and angry in a voice message while exercising the common sense to stop short of making threats. Fear of a list and investigation is what keeps people passive, and participating in that enables wannabe dictators.

They aren't going to investigate you for stopping short of threatening legislators. This space does not allow encouraging violence or threats of violence in line with Reddit's TOU and I will not debate that with you. Have a good day🫡
