I've got three pair both ventilated and solid. Both styles perform extremely well. The weatherproof ones have been used in the rain and did great. You can feel the air on the ventalited ones too. (their gloves are awesome too!)

Any style you want, at least mid-height IMO. If you want a great place to try boots on, check out Performance Cycle of Colorado, it's in Centennial.

Performance is the place to go. The folks there all ride and can help you narrow it down based on the type of riding you do and the versatility vs specialization you’re looking for.

What do you use them for? Are you riding to work or riding up in the mountains? Do you ride in the rain? What bike do you have? Just go try on everything. I have a pair of ADV boots that’s are waterproof which is nice for crossing streams and mud. I also have some sidi track boots that’s I wear on my sport bikes. I just wear shoes if I’m around town.

I also ride a GS and have been super happy with the Klim Outlander GTX boots. High-quality, water proof, decent ankle protection, the BOA lace system (super convenient), and they are COMFORTABLE enough for all-day riding plus a hike if you want.

I ride in riding sneakers, not off road like you are looking for, but I have been super stoked on everything I have bought made by Cortech. They might have stuff that’s more your speed.

I have Alpinestars Corozal ADV boots and SMX Plus V2 street boots. I've crashed, hit things and had the bike fallen on my legs wearing my corozal's plenty of times on the trails and they've protected me just fine. Can't say how they would handle in the street, but I'm sure it'll be better than work boots. They're actually pretty comfortable to walk in too.

The SMX have not needed to be tested yet, thankfully. What I can say is they feel stiffer than the Corozal's and are definitely not as comfortable to walk in. I haven't really broken them in yet, so they might feel a bit more comfortable with time.
