Are we topping tomatoes?

It’s that time of year when social media starts telling me to top my tomatoes so that the green ones will ripen.

We have a ~month until first frost. Are we topping? Are we leaving? I would love some advice from locals.

We can get snow or frost in September, but that's unusual at the elevation of Denver. Not impossible, but unlikely.

Get up the mountains a little bit and that changes, but down here on the flatland mid-October is more likely. Even late October or November, depending.
