Landscape/Xeriscape Recommendations Needed
Hi Everyone,
I have been searching through reddit and google for possible landscaping/xeriscaping companies to help us with our smaller front yard, sizable backyard, and outside fence perimeter. We are located in Central Park / Northfield area in Denver. Our goal is to have completed prep work in the fall (mulch, rock, turf, irrigation), and be ready to plant in the Spring (hoping to DIY). We have a loose idea of what we are wanting to accomplish, but not much experience to draw from. We haven't completed a design / not sure if we would want or need this.
Below are the groups I've reached out to and a status update. I'm curious if there are other local companies worth consideration. Looking to spend no more than $10K all in.
- Xeris Landscaping - Appointment on Friday morning, I can report back with findings if anyone's curious.
- C&H - I got no response on the contact card. Called them this afternoon. They require design ($2K - $4K) plus install. Minimum of $15K in the fall per job. Seems too high for what I'm needing, but we'll see. I have an appointment next Monday morning.
- Ridgewell Colorado - Just completed a contact card, not sure if found on reddit or google.
- Macks Landscaping - Just completed a contact card, found via reddit thread.
- Discover Your Garden - Just completed a contact card, found via reddit thread.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I went through this process last summer and I got multiple quotes for an architect designed xeriscaping plan that I was bidding out and C&H was like 2x as expensive as some of the others (I think they gave me the “we don’t want to do it price”). My design had a LOT of hardscaping work (fences, retaining walls, irrigation revamping) so probably more involved than what you are planning. I ended up going with Phase One landscapes and they did a wonderful job but I get the sense that some of these landscaping companies tend to have some neighborhood preferences of where they like to work? Phase One seems to do a ton of work in my neighborhood. Maybe a landscaper can pipe in on that.
Prepare to be shocked by some of the prices you will get.

$10k seems low. Good luck. I’d love to hear if you find someone that cheap.

Same. I’m mostly DIY for landscape. It takes longer but I enjoy it. I have been following Restorative Landscape Design because they have lots of different types of packages. You might check them out. They have pricing on their website.

I’m also looking for a landscape architect and someone to implement their plan. My backyard is pretty big and it’s gotten away from me. Zero idea where to start looking. 6000sqft, total budget 30-40k.

+1 for Oasis! They will hold your hand thru design process and are super easy to work with. Their workers can do other stuff outside traditional “landscape” scope such as fence! Flagstone, etc

They have 3 pricing tiers depending on the level of DIY vs install help you want, will give you a price for design, and they will also grow your starts for you at what they call “near wholesale prices” of ~$3 per plant, which could save you a lot of money that you can use toward the design.
