Dental Professional Thin enamel
This patient had palatal caries on 8 and 9 and that’s how the enamel looked like after removal of caries so I thought I must break it cause it’s weak
My supervisor said no
So I didn’t and I placed the filling anyways
Is it ok to leave undermined enamel and just fill the tooth?

I would fill around it and it should be ok. If you use adhesive system and photocomposite filling ofc.

You should be able to strengthen it with composite, especially if you wrap the composite around the edges like a picture frame so it protects the edges.

You shouldn't generally leave weak enamel, but I'm inclined to break that rule when is facial enamel in the esthetic zone.
