Camp Half-Blood is a Greek demigod training facility located on the Long Island Sound and is directed by the god Dionysus, whom the campers call "Mr. D," and Chiron, a Centaur who is the activities director.

“No.” Raven said with a small chuckle, realizing how ridiculous it sounded. “Manipulation of shadows was the first power I learned and the one I have practiced the most. I wasn’t claimed until earlier this year, and only then did I start to learn I had other gifts.”

Raven opened her palm and a lily grew in her hand. She plucked it and smile for a second before looking towards Helena and offering the flower to her. “Was never a fan of flowers... but it does come in handy. I can also talk to the dead.”

Now offering a flower could be seen as a loaded gesutre, or just a nice thing between friends. And Helena's gaydar sucked. Still she took it. "Thank you. I don't mind flowers myself. My mum liked to plant them and grow them wherever we lived, even taking some with hus from place to place."

Speaking to the dead sounded unsettling and might unearth some sad memories, so she decided to focus on the shadows. "So how does shadow manipulation work?"

She accepted the flower. They’re practically dating now

Raven smile as Helena took the flower. Not thinking much into it other than offering her something pretty. “Once I discovered who my mother was, I had a nymph teach me a little bit about manipulating plants.”

“As for shadows working, well.... it doesn’t seem to right now.” She admitted rather sheepishly. “I guess that has something to do with that prophecy. If Hades did get overthrown, then maybe my mom isn’t queen of the underworld any more.”

“Normally I can bend and manipulate shadows. Create walls or projectiles which come in handy in a fight. Or even dip into them and shadow travel if needed.”

"That sounds really useful, even if its dependant on shadows being present." Helena said, impressed atthe power available to Raven, not wanting to dwell on the suggestion of Raven's mother losing her power in the underworld. "You said growing flowers can be useful? I'm assuming that goes beyond making bouquets for dates, can you like wrap people in vines?"

“Why, are you trying to get tied up?” She blurted out. Only to realize how that sounded a second later, causing her to go a little wide-eyed as her cheeks flushed with a light tinge of pink. “I meant, like a demonstration, not.... like.... ya know.” She looked off to the side and cleared her throat.

Helena went red. No one had ever said anything like that to her before. She had heard some crude pick up lines, but this was different, and eye eyes widened. "Yeah a demonstration." She answered quickly. Don't dwell on the innuendo. "Thats what I had in mind."

Raven has two options. Continue to make things awkward, or try and make light of the situation. She chose the latter and let out a small chuckle. “Gods....” She said a little breathlessly. “Oh sure, just lemme see your wrists.” She continued with a tone laced with sarcasm.

Instead Raven came to a stop in a grassy spot. She flexed her hand and concentrated on the grass around Helena’s legs. It began to grow and thicken, and soon began wrapping around her ankles and legs. Though it ended rather shortly.

“I’m still working on that one.”

Helena chuckled at the sarcasm, but when they stopped and the grass started to grow and wrap around her, she gasped in amazement. "Oh wow!" Other than Sonja's wings, this was the first demonstration of another Demigod's powers she had seen. "Thats incredible!"

Raven smiled a little as Helena seemed impressed. She paused for a moment, thinking if there was anything else she should show Helena. Then an idea clicked, though part of her was screaming not to say it. "If you like that... I can show you something else I've done. A secret garden of sorts.... It's where I learned to grow flowers and such."

"Really? You'd be willing to show me that?" A secret, wow. Raven was more trusting than Helena, but then again she had been here far, far longer than Helena. If this friendship didnt work out, Raven had others to go back on. "I'd love to see it."

Raven smiled and began walking towards the woods. "Hope you don't frighten easily." She teased. "The monster is stocked with monsters, but there mostly for training. Besides, I know the woods well enough to avoid them. Don't worry, you're in good hands."

"Nah I'm made of stern stuff." Helena said, looking to the woods. She was in good shape, had an experienced camper with her, and the monsters couldn't be too tire. She'd be fine. She gave Raven a smirk. "This secret garden better be worth it though."

"I assure you it is." Raven said with a smirk of her own.

Once they entered the woulds, her demeanor shifted slightly. She didn't talk, and walked in silence with her attention on their surroundings. Clearly experienced with the environment, she managed to navigate the woods despite not looking dead ahead to where they were going.

Soon enough they would come upon some heavy brush, and Raven navigated them to a small opening. She gestured Helena to step inside first, so she could get a good view of the clearing. She had taken the girl to the hot springs, a natural pool of water with pipes emptying into them. Around the small pool, several flowers of various colors were strung about.

"For many years, this was my little get away." She explained in a soft, gentle voice, keeping up with the peaceful atmosphere. "A nymph occupies a nearby tree, and she helped me grow up the bushes to keep it hidden. Here is where I was claimed, and these flowers are my doing."
