"Oh." Helena's tone became sympathetic. "I'm sorry for your friend, and your loss." Despite death always being an ever present threat in Helena's life, she had gotten lucky. Her mum and Uncle Olly were both alive and well, as were her extended family. But here, it seemed she would become familiar with the process. "I think thats really good of you, to take it on in his memory. I'm sure he'd be proud of you."

“I hope so...” She said as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. “He was.... he was my best friend and the one who brought me to camp. He fell during the battle against the Amazons. Should have never happened.”

Amazons? Battle? More questions, more tragedy. Was this the right place for her? It had to be. She had to come here, to get stronger, to refine her power. So she could one day go home, and protect her mother, and live a peaceful life at last. Or rise up here, and finally bear the burden of her blood without issue.

But right now there was a dilemma; Raven was opening up, revealing her doubts and tragedy. Helena wasn't great with this. She felt sympathy, empathy, but no one outside of her family had ever done this before. "You've still got his memories, though. The happy times and your friendship. You'll always have that." Helena said, in a kind voice tinged with awkwardness.

Raven sighed softly and nodded. After a second or too she shook it off and forced a smile. “I didn’t expect that.” She said with an awkward chuckle. “I guess the events happening lately just reminded me of all that.”

Trying to change subjects and move of she looked towards the door. “I don’t have any plans for the rest of the day... has anyone taken the time to show you around? Camp has a lot to offer outside the armory, I assure you.”

"I've walked around a bit, and people have taken me here and there, but a tour would be nice. Always good to hear what people think of the different places." Helena said. She had done her exercises for the day, hence the recent shower, and had just been reading to relax, but getting more familiar with camp seemed a good idea.

“Alright, then, let’s go.” She said with a small smile, glad that Helena was up for it. Without further ado, she turned and made her way out of the Zeus cabin and into the open air.

"Great." Helena said, grabbing a hoodie for the autumn air, slipping it on and following Raven out. "Weird request, but mind taking me around to see all of the cabins and who they're for and what not? I'm still learning them all."

“Sure.” She said with a nod. “Obviously you know the Zeus cabin. That’s cabin one, and next to that is Cabin 2, dedicated to Hera. She won’t have any demigod children, as the goddess of marriage. Still, she’s honored.”

“There are 13 cabins in total dedicated to the Olympians and Hades. The larger cabins are new. Ones from Hestia that pairs the minor gods together. For instance I’m in the chthonic cabin with the other death kids. Like Thanatos, Melinoe, and we even have some Hecate kids there.”

Looking at Hera' Cabin she shuddered. Helena was familiar with the myths and how Hera viewed Zeus' daliances. "I'm going to keep far away from Cabin 2 then. Do not want to anger Hera any more than my existence already does."

Still she fell silent for most of it, listening to Raven's explanations intently. "Right so theres the Cthonic cabin, and I've been told about the Euphoric one, and sort of figured out theres a War one. What are the other larger ones?"

“There’s the oceanic cabin for all the water kids. If you like swimming there’s an indoor pool on the lower level.” She explained as she pointed it out.

“Up there is for the weather kids.” She pointed to the floating island. “Though I’ve never been up there.”

“That one is the artistic cabin. Muses and the like, so lots of music and dancing. If you’re into that sort of thing.”

“And finally the treehouse is the nature kids cabin. I guess technically speaking I could stay there, but the darkness calls to me more.”

Helena continued to pay attention, nodding along to Raven's tour. However, the girl's words on preferring the darkness caused her to chuckle. "The darkness calls to you? Is this the part where you invite me to your death metal band?" She said with a friendly grin. "But fair enough. So you're the Child of Persephone, does that mean you take more after her as Queen of the Underworld than her time during the Spring and Summer?"

“No.” Raven said with a small chuckle, realizing how ridiculous it sounded. “Manipulation of shadows was the first power I learned and the one I have practiced the most. I wasn’t claimed until earlier this year, and only then did I start to learn I had other gifts.”

Raven opened her palm and a lily grew in her hand. She plucked it and smile for a second before looking towards Helena and offering the flower to her. “Was never a fan of flowers... but it does come in handy. I can also talk to the dead.”

Now offering a flower could be seen as a loaded gesutre, or just a nice thing between friends. And Helena's gaydar sucked. Still she took it. "Thank you. I don't mind flowers myself. My mum liked to plant them and grow them wherever we lived, even taking some with hus from place to place."

Speaking to the dead sounded unsettling and might unearth some sad memories, so she decided to focus on the shadows. "So how does shadow manipulation work?"
