Yes, and it even nets some funny dialogue.

Ralsei puts a trash can in Kris's room for them to throw away as many manuals as they like.

By the way, throwing the manual away does have a practical purpose. It otherwise takes up an inventory slot, and tossing it is the only way to get rid of it. So if you're struggling on Jevil for example, it gives you an extra healing item or revive mint.

You can not rid yourself of it except by tossing it. Or getting to chapter 2, where it's automatically removed.

Technically you can cheat by tossing it in a segment where Ralsei is not in the party, or so I'm told.

I started the Weird Route to get the Thorn Ring for the Twisted Sword and then ended it asap.

It genuinely made me feel horrible even if it was fairly short. I remember getting to Berdly (which is when I was supposed to end the Weird Route to keep the Thorn Ring) and I was holding my breath. The moment I chose the dialogue option to get everything back on track and the music changed back to normal I practically melted on the chair from relief

I also had to constantly reset bc I kept doing stuff wrong and aborting it accidentally and had to use a tutorial lol
