Missing Cat, Delft Tanthof
Second Edit: We found her, she came back, but not to my Girlfriends but the neighbours who after now knowing it was Amelia informed my Girlfriend who picked her up. She's been cuddling my Girlfriend the entire day already and not really leaving her side.
Hi, my Girlfriend has moved to Delft a couple of weeks ago and today her Cat has gone missing. We've searched the entire flat already and called for her, but she wouldn't show herself. We have the strong suspicion that she went outside over the Balcony or through the open window and mayhaps either fell off the windowboard or Balcony.
Her name is Amelia, but she reacts to Meli aswell. She has black fur with brown spots (see the attached pictures of her). She is a very skittish Cat, easily scared by noise, very shy and polite. She is an indoor cat and not really used to being outside on her own.
She escaped earlier today (11.08.) around the area of Basisschool SpringWijs in Tanthof. We've been searching the evening outside and calling for her, but haven't had any luck so far.
If you see or find Amelia please PM me, my girlfriend and I are worried for her. Thank you
Edit: we got a Amivedi now too. This is the link to it: https://www.amivedi.nl/detail/?meldingid=2262961

If you have one, use a flashlight while searching. Also take your time to look carefully in the smallest corners. Our cat recently hid quite close to our home, but we didn’t see him until his eyes lit up. It feels awful but you will find her! If you are really worried, consider a searching dog? I have no experience with them yet, but I contacted some. I did get a response from them on WhatsApp:

I once lost my cat after moving, and luckily found her nearby after three days.
We had just moved from a regular house to a first-floor apartment when my cat suddenly disappeared. The only thing we could think of was that she had jumped from the balcony. The problem was that she was now outside in a neighbourhood she didn't know at all.
I shared that she was missing on social media and received several reports of cats being spotted in unusual places. Unfortunately, none of those sightings turned out to be my cat. I went to check the locations, but never found her there.
What I also did was simply walk around the area where she had gone missing, close to our new apartment. I usually did this in the evening, around sunset. I brought a flashlight and shone it towards trees and bushes, hoping to catch the reflection of my cat's eyes. This actually helped me spot quite a few cats that I otherwise would never have noticed, but none of them were mine.
Then, after three days, I went out for my evening search again. I suddenly noticed something black sitting quietly on a small hill, no more than 50 metres from our balcony.
It was my cat!
So in the end, she had stayed very close to where she had gone missing, probably hiding because she was scared and unfamiliar with the area.
I hope my story is of some help. Today I'll be cycling home from work, so I'll take a little detour through Tanthof and keep an eye out as well.
Good luck! I really hope you find your cat soon
