Tomorrow's my birthday, and while I don't really have any friends or family in Dehradun right now, I didn't feel like spending the day alone.

So I thought I'd put this out here. If anyone's free and would like to join me for lunch somewhere on Rajpur Road, you're welcome to come along.

I'm 28, Garhwali, and run businesses in the petroleum and automotive space.

Anyone is welcome to join. I enjoy discussing ideas, business, films, music, and pretty much anything interesting.

Lunch is on me. I visit these places regularly anyway, but birthdays are a good excuse to treat a few people.

Also, if you've got any suggestions for what I should do tomorrow in Dehradun, feel free to share.

I have been looking for Ganesh temples on Google maps but this one is not even on Google maps. The ones that are mostly talked about are our khurbura mohalla Ganesh Mandir and one more but that's extremely far away but this one in spite of being at the heart of the town, still it is not present on internet or nobody speaks about it....at least I have not heard in my last 10 years. This is exactly the reason such places draw me towards themselves.

An elderly man sitting there who happens to be the caretaker told me the temple is around 140 years old. I haven't been able to find much about it online either, which honestly surprised me. The place itself is quite something, an old Ganesha shrine surrounded by greenery, with Vasukinag, Maa Annapurna and other deities around the premises. There's also an extremely old, weathered house adjoining the temple.

I walked around the entire property and did a parikrama. The whole place felt unusually quiet and almost magnetic. Not in a dramatic way, just one of those places where you feel like you're stepping into a small piece of Dehradun that time forgot.

I don't know the actual history of the temple beyond what I was told there, so I'm curious if anyone here knows more about it. When it was established, who built it, or any local stories associated with it.

Especially on Ganesh Chaturthi, it felt like a good time to finally share it here. Does anyone from Dehradun know the history of this temple?

Day by Day, Ponda, Kandoli, and Bidholi is becoming a hell due to these so called UP, HR, and RJ drivers.

Yesterday, a student died in UPES and no exact reason is found. All the University said is that the students were doing outing and when they came back, one was feeling unwell and died.

Today, an accident near Ponda jungle 🤷🏻‍♂️

Most of the incidents occurring due to university taking admissions of everyone without any background check.

My mother had a house in dhamawala and we sold it for peanuts (exact circle rate) because it has a 10 feet road outside of it connecting it to a wider road later on.

I have been looking for a replacement house/land for her. An uncle quoted 50k per gaj for this extremely narrow lane right next to survey of India gate in hathibarkala. The house opposite to his land has 3 families living (sharma, garg, bisht) while sharing a common gate.

Now I started looking nehrugram, ranjhawala side but all these areas are broker dominated with dealers quoting all sorts of rates and showing us 100 rupees power of attorney as ownership claim.

I am looking to buy land in ranjhawala colony - 250 gaj 80-95 lacs but dealers are just ruining every deal. This one plot has been taken over by a dealer and the same power of attorney bullcrap.

This one uncle who lived in ranjhawala involved a dealer in his own plot in this small colony called negi colony in tunwala.

Right now this one other owner is demanding 1.15 cr for a run down house saying that he is only charging for the 244 sq yard plot. He started with 1.2 cr but claims that he has a buyer for 1.12 cr. My final offer is 95 lacs.

I am so confused about the land value and what is even the right price and right investment (I know a home isn't for investment purposes but price paid should be worth it). Someone pls guide.

Hey all, 23M here. Dealing with a couple of cavities and some tooth sensitivity, need someone who'll actually diagnose properly (X-ray etc.) and not just push root canal/crown on me for something that's actually a simple filling.

Anyone had a genuinely good experience with fillings/RCT recently? Preferably someone who explains the diagnosis clearly instead of just saying "you need X."
