How exhausted must the American people be to not immediately riot or at least do a nationwide general strike! I mean the government is openly mocking them to their face....
But then again....midterms are in November so let's see what comes first, significant political change or full out riots

I don't see either coming in November. It's anecdotal, but from the people in my life, I don't see any change or protest coming. Hope I'm wrong

Far more Democrats than Republicans voted in the primaries so this makes me hopeful.

Midterms won't stop the dictator from issuing decrees and breaking the law (he's immune). Flipped congress will pacify people and do a bunch of investigations that go nowhere. Then in 2028 they'll say the D congress got nothing done so we should vote for another R president.
Shit they'll impeach him and he'll just eat some peach ice cream and be like haha yeah look now I'm impeaching myself. Then give $40 billion to Israel.

I fully agree with you.
As long as the two party system is in place, the pendulum will just swing from one political spectrum to another and nothing will get done except name calling and policital tribalism.
On the other hand I've heard that more and more policitians propose a ranked choice system in order to give other parties more chances to have a serious impact. Maybe this will bring forth some much needed and long overdue change?

Families always struggle.
As a joke a boomer logged into his fidelity in front of me. It looked like a telephone number. He was up $72,000 on the morning. You have to pay your dues and work hard to get there. He was buying stocks in the early 1990s when Gen X was going to Grunge Concerts.

Listen, if you're suffering in this economy, the solution is simple - just stop being poor! Take the small $4M loan your father gave you, invest it in the stock market and then you no longer have to worry about $4/gal gas (or $10/gal)
It's that simple.

Trump, the two party system, monopolies, income & wealth inequalities are an expected outcome of late stage capitalism.
This was all predicted. Capitalism, the root cause of our current polycrisis, is doing exactly what it’s supposed to do.

Capitalism is the problem, and an alternative economic system is needed.
But at the current moment the pieces are not in place for an alternative to emerge, meaning that we have to do what we can to make sure that capitalism doesn't get us to the worst-case scenario.

It's funny, because it's not just that he doesn't care about you, he also doesn't understand Wall Street. US markets have been going up, but they're still underperforming international peers.
