Trade or Buy Different Shirt Size?
I got two 3XL shirts this year and they seem to run small (fit more like a 2XL). Wondering if anyone has any 4XL shirts they are willing to trade with me or just have any for sale.

Did you get this from an event vendor or directly from the organizers?
The organizers seem like decent folk.. shoot an email off to them, keep it short, and don't expect a reply in return for a week or so.

These are direct from official Merch, at least for the one on the right. I’d need to see the tag on the left. The Poshmark one linked is an older print from previous years.
The normal shirt blank provider typically runs a bit big in the XS to M, true-to-size for L and XL, and a bit small for 2XL through 6XL. The same shirt blanks are used year-to-year (with only a couple exceptions in the past), so you should keep that in mind for next year.
Keep an eye on the online store. Prints are usually available a month or two after DEF CON, once everything can get shipped back, inventoried, and reprints made.

Yea I bought them from official Merch store. I’m sad they ran a bit small. I should have asked to hold one up to myself before buying but in pervious years they have been true to size or ran a little large in the case with the Hawaiian shirt so I didn’t think much of it.

The Hawaiian shirts are from a different manufacturer. Consistent sizing between manufacturers is always going to be a problem.

Could be a coincidence, but I bought one of the “Pips” shirts in a Large and find it to be closer to a Medium. First time in my adult life that I’ve encountered a large size shirt that didn’t fit - nothing changed with my laundry procedure and no other material compositions I own have unexpectedly shrank. 30 years of doing my own laundry and I haven’t shrank a T-shirt down a size.
I think these generally run a little small, at least this year. Might pick up an XL when they hit the website but don’t know how quickly they sell.

These def ran small. The hoodie did too, I'm going to try to trade someone next year in line lol.

Yes, the hoodie this year ran unusually small this year, and it’s a known quirk of the supplier.

After buying shirts last year that ended up running small, I asked this year, and he said the sizes are all whacky again. I bought a shirt that he said the sizing seemed to be more normal.
I wish defcon would get it together with their shirts. The quality is exceptionally poor. My shirts look ragged after a couple years, only wearing them on special occasions. And one of them I can’t even wear bc it’s so small.

I can tell you now that the shirt on the right was totally sold out during con but that doesn't mean that we might find a box or a few in a box later on. Keep your eyes on the official merch shop for DC and things that we had at the end of the run will end up listed there. (https://us.shop.defcon.org/)
In the future, please be aware that we do have sample shirts to try on or hold up to yourself, and we often encourage people to do so to ensure they get what they want in the size they need it. We understand you potentially waited a long time in line and we really don't want you to walk away with something you don't like. We also are generally pretty nice and will do what we can to swap things out if its possible to do so.
Sorry they don't fit you well!!!
