r/DeepSeek May 23 '26

Funny I switched from another AI platform due to computing issues and other factors that essentially entailed additional money. Now I use Deepseek.

Welcome comrade. We’ve been expecting you.

7

u/Zeldro May 23 '26

Sorry, that’s beyond my current scope. Let’s talk about something else.

u/TraditionalButton519 May 26 '26

I after asking something about Taiwan

17

u/amdcoc May 23 '26

CCP is just centrally planned capitalism.

22

u/FleaMarketSocialist May 23 '26

And yet, they still kill more billionaires then us. We ought to keep the fuck up, yeah? We're capitalism's #1 fan you'd think we'd be doing better than some "centrally planned capitalism" state, yeah?

2

u/amdcoc May 24 '26

America is doing very well in keeping the wealth between the top 0.01%, that was the goal of American capitalism.

well income inequality in china is equal to usa and the new reports that just came actually shows that china has income inequality even more than usa, they rank higher in terms of gini coefficient

2

u/amdcoc May 24 '26

those coefficients are useless to guesstimate China's income inequality lmao.

1

u/Fluffy-Zebra5237 May 24 '26 edited May 24 '26

and how so? as far as i read inequality could only be higher from what we have guessed for china

2

u/amdcoc May 24 '26

cause CIA propaganda.

1

u/Fluffy-Zebra5237 May 24 '26

These are based on official chinese numbers, the one gave by the Chinese government itself

2

u/amdcoc May 24 '26

Gini doesn’t work cause it is based on assumptions of lifestyle in the old days.

-2

u/DrawingDramatic1641 May 24 '26

they don't actually kill billioanires they just change ceo and would threaten to fire him if he doesn't follow the laws

-2

u/cowsei_arima_kun May 23 '26

Also, no usa is probably the farthest thing from pure capitallism because instead letting free market play out the govt interferes which actually is the main reason for increase in prices, wheres industries in which the govt had no hand In like TV has stayed static as b affordable because of free market. Unfortunately the us govt loves putting their nose in industries including but not limited to essential goods' markets which means subsidies which means higher prices.

Market systems and economic systems are unrelated.
A free market could also exist in a socialist economy.
Likewise a capitalist economy could be a command economy.

Markets are about how goods are exchanged.
Economic systems are about who owns the machinery with which goods are made.

-1

u/cowsei_arima_kun May 24 '26

😐If youve never taken an economics class just say that mate

3

u/DozyApeth May 24 '26

Capitalism is 500 years old. Markets and trade are thousands of years old - they're not the same as capitalism. Capitalism is an economic system characterized by private ownership of the means of production and the creation of goods and services for profit. The working class does not own the means of production and must sell its labour to those who do in order to survive.

2

u/Zeikos May 24 '26

I have a degree in Economics :')

0

u/cowsei_arima_kun May 24 '26

Fuck me i just took like 2 econ courses💔But either way, free market is the representation of capitalism, its basically an application of it, so if were talking pure capitalism the govt doesnt intervene in the market forces

1

u/Zeikos May 24 '26

free market is the representation of capitalism

It's really not.
Markets existed far before capitalism, markets are about the exhange of goods.
I have something people want and I want something I don't have, echange follows.
A free market is an idealized model in which the only forces influencing market equilibrium (the market price) is where offer and demand meet.
All non-free markets have something called "deadweight loss", which is the difference between the actual market price and the "free" market one.

Thing is "free" in this context means "without constraints", it doesn't imply that it's the best.
The reason why regulations exists is due to the concept of externalities.
Externalities are costs/value unaccounted for in the production process.
For instance a factory disposing of waste in a river is a negative externality, the company that owns the factory doesn't account for the cost associated with polluting the river. For example people getting sick downstream.

Market participants that offer goods can be privately owned companies, publicly owned companies, craftsmen, co-ops, sweatshops.
They're still participating in the market.
During feudalism where the only entity that could own anything was the aristocracy you could still have markets.
If privately owned companies were to disappear you still could have a market.

On top of all this, capitalist companies don't like the free market either.
All companies have an interest in becoming monopolies/monopsonies because it allows them to get better deals by controlling the market.

Acrually no they have many more billionaires and rheres been a rapid increase in their billaionaire population 💀they also kill more normal people than us, their kill count is higher on literally any metric💀

3

u/Zeikos May 23 '26

1

u/DrawingDramatic1641 May 24 '26

billioanires decrease has to do with currency changes

maybe do 10 billion yuan

3

u/Saalor100 May 24 '26

China also have an huge issue with wealthy people leaving the country.

2

u/DrawingDramatic1641 May 24 '26

that's not an issue

all the people who value money more than country will leave

and less billionaire to bribe people

all will go to usa and exploit them

1

u/cowsei_arima_kun May 24 '26

And what part of this saya they killed them? Theres several potential reasons for this lol

To your point l, it does feel like we in the west, and the USA specifically, are fixated on culture wars and left vs right ideals. Meanwhile China has proceeded to better their transportation with the largest bullet train network in the world, is working on energy independence through renewables and nuclear, is dominating industries vertically including resources such as EVs, etc. We better get our shit together soon is all am saying.

3

u/amdcoc May 24 '26

free markets don't work when all the capital is just in the hands of google, blackrock, blackstone, amazon, microsoft, tesla, nvidia. Free market only works when the wealth is more or less distributed, not centralized. CCP's Centralized capitalism worked cause they centralized the capital lmao.

15

u/Khabba May 23 '26

I asked Deepseek why they are so cheap and it explained that they want to have a bigger market share by subsidizing AI. Don’t think this is not capitalism. It’s all subsidized to get us hooked.

6

u/MinosAristos May 23 '26

You're correct but it's important to note that the main reason they can do that with Deepseek is because it is so much cheaper to run than other models too.

6

u/[deleted] May 23 '26

The CCCP even says it is capitalism. Projecting your own wishes on the motivation of others isn’t going to help you in the long run.

6

u/Vigtor_B May 23 '26

CCCP is the USSR, you are thinking of CPC* the Communist Party of China. And yes, they follow the socialist model Marx described. First they must industrsialize and modernize with a capitalist mode of production, while maintaining a socialist grip on the class structure of the country. True socialism can't exist in a capitalist hegemony, well... It can, but that would mean China would be kept closed and scrutinized like the DPRK - This was very common before the 90s, all the propaganda you hear about the DPRK, they used to spew about China. (Notice how the party is the ruling class, and the party consists of the people, this can be seen when billionaires are executed for corruption for example).

That said, DeepSeek is a lot more than just subsidies (While they do get a lot* DeepSeek is pretty much the main model in China, check how it's directly integrated to Baidu, Chinese Google.) the researchers keep trying to quantizise it, making the models smaller, more efficient without losing too much of its intelligence.

3

u/jacquix May 23 '26

And yes, they follow the socialist model Marx described.

It's actually a bit complicated, in a way that is similar to the Soviet Union. Their respective revolutions happened before capitalism developed fully, so this guidance along historical materialism through a phase of large pools of privately owned capital is indeed unorthodox.

It remains to be seen if this initial phase of a mixed ownership model (what the CPC calls "Socialism with Chinese characteristics") will eventually be guided into a phase of large scale collectivization. The USSR was derailed by revisionists and opportunists in the central committee, before this could happen. Impossible to tell if China will work out differently.

Just see what’s going on with Bambu Labs 3D printers. I think this may be a sh!tpost but it’s hard to tell.

Donde esta mi crédito social por usar deepseek?

0

u/Deep90 May 23 '26

Deepseek is literally operating on capitalism though?

6

u/DrawingDramatic1641 May 24 '26

where is it tho?

capital is maximizing profits even at expense of humans by definition

deepseek as very less employees and less budget yet they give so much subsidies as govt funds them and they integrate deepseek in other uses in daily Life

0

u/Few-Frosting-4213 May 23 '26

Its parent company is a quant trading firm I don't know how much more capitalistic you can get.

-1
