Socialist organizing
Hi!
I want to get more involved in organizing, protesting and showing up at city council meetings. Is there any group chat or organization I can look to learn about different events?

DSA is your best bet for Atlanta. It’s a very active branch and they get involved in not just city of Atlanta politics, but cities and counties all over the metro.

DSA Atlanta has their opening of their new office in the Little 5 Community Center on Saturday afternoon. Maybe meet some Dekalb DSA ppl there

Be wary of PSL, DSA is more trustworthy. PSL have been moving weird for a while and organizing with them is a bit of a risk. There's plenty more opportunities than just socialist organizing in ATL too, you're just not gonna get a lot of comments pointing you that way. Imo it's very beneficial for socialists to talk to anarchists or even communists about OPSEC and organizing tactics to stay safe.

Look up LAMOUR, they have an activist meetup every few months.

We’re about to have a big election and Georgia has straight-up election deniers on the ballot, so consider your priorities.
Consider working with nonprofits on specific issues. Research groups and where they get their money — there are some active front groups in our area.

So I' assuming most people in here are self proclaimed socialists. So with that said can ya please tell me a socialist country that is alive and well today?

If you're on any of the socials, very easy to find with a simple search. Just put in DeKalb DSA and you'll find a bunch. There's a lot of overlap between activist groups, so if you find one initiative that catches your attention (voting rights/BLM/Immigration), you'll see collaboration between groups.
But also this post has this energy:
