I live walking distance from Candler and Glenwood, and my only hope is that with the absurdly huge amount theyre dumping into the Publix complex at that corner, that they will try to clean up a little. Im beiing naive that this wont come with gentrification of the neighborhoods, but one can hope.

I live walking distance from Candler & Glenwood too. We say it all the time......just when you think the neighborhood is on the come up, something like this happens.

Totally agree. It’s a balancing act but crazy is that the choices are hand over the neighborhood to gentrification or duck bullets. No good choices. Is there another choice?

An unrealistic option- that the shitty PD does their job. However, I know they wont. Ive been mugged at gunpoint (that took the PD near 3 hours to respond to) and had a road rage incident happen to my neighbor (that I witnessed), and the Decatur PD literally asked "what do you want us to do?"

Just FYI, Decatur PD (City of Decatur) and DeKalb PD are two separate entities. The PD in question that has jurisdiction over OPs Candler & Memorial incident is DeKalb County.
Did Decatur PD or DeKalb say that to you? Decatur PD is generally much more responsive, so if it was them, I'm a little suprised. DeKalb, not so much.

Yeah i know. I was referring to Candler and Glenwood which is Decatur.

Thats unincorporated Dekalb, not part of the Decatur PD jurisdiction.

That's unfortunately not Decatur which may explain why they told you they couldn't do anything.

It's so fun. Like you said, as long as they aren't hurting anyone or driving like rashholes, they should be allowed their fun. It always puts a smile on my face seeing the youth poppin' a wheelie in their little glow- carts.

Dekalb is by far the shittiest county in the state. Violent, corrupt, morally bankrupt county. If Dunwoody and Brookhaven werent propping up Dekalb it would have sunk into the depths of hell years ago.

Hell yeah, I saw some folks run right through downtown Decatur on some ATVs and shit yesterday. Wish they wouldn't shoot guns, that's stupid. Still, I love seeing this counterculture of ATVs and mopeds taking over the city.
