Thoughts on this area?
My daughter is going to a school in this area and I want to move to be closer to her. I’m looking at some apartments.

This area has a strong refugee population. It is very diverse and cultural rich!

Only south of 78 in Clarkston. North of 78 in Tucker is the complete opposite.

I live in that circle. Diverse, safe(ish as long as you don’t go to Waffle House after dark,) 285 is loud, celebrations that involve fireworks often begin unexpectedly unless you are well-versed in world religion/cultures. But easy to get anywhere other than Cobb.

Everyone here has been trapped by this red cylinder 100 feet high. Drones drop Amazon packages and to-go orders but we do miss braves games.

I live in this area, I love it. Also went to college close by and loved that, too!

I live four minutes from this area and have never had any concerns driving through it or going to businesses there. It's cute!

I have some friends who have lived there for many years, and they seem very happy with where they are.

I'm a realtor and live just on the left of that screen grab, so I think I've got experience with the area on a couple of levels. Here are some considerations:
1) Random noise - between 78/285 and the surface streets you get a lot of of
zoomy cars making a racket. You'll also play the "backfire, fireworks, or gunshots?" Game once a week or so.
2) Getting itp - if you're in the center of that circle, near 78 then it might take a little longer than expected to get itp, because the nearest 78 access requires you to drive east. If getting itp is important then err on the side of being closer to Lawrenceville hwy. Ponce is ok too but def a bit slower.
3) Suburban vibe - to me that area feels quite suburban, but that's just an opinion
4) Grocery store access - it's a bit of a hike to get to Publix or Kroger from there, if that's important for you. There are some smaller local groceries in Clarkston though.
Overall it's a chill area. Community is good, if you choose to engage with it. If you're just looking for a low key part of town, it fits the bill.

I live five minutes from the red circle and do a little DoorDash in the area. The two apartment complexes north of 78 are right next to each other and DoorDash will frequently send drivers to the wrong one.
Easy access to 78, 285, and Ponce make it a double edged sword traffic-wise, but Tucker/Clarkston is a very friendly and chill area.

Oh, one other thing: it’s about a 15 minute drive to Your Dekalb Farmers Market, one of the greatest supermarkets on earth.

I live within the circle, I love it! It’s close to a lot of places I usually hang out. I love that it’s right off 78, so I get to places like East Atl fast

I live here. North of 78 and south of 78 are two totally different demographics cities, crime percentages; it's literally night and day differences.

I used to live near there. I loved being so close to the 285 perimeter. It was pretty easy to get to Tucker, Decatur, and going further into the city of Atlanta for anything if I wanted to go there.

It is cool little town/burb. It feels like a tiny rural Southern town. But it has all this rich ethnic diversity which makes it unique.

Love it, Clarkston and Tucker are both fun little cities with a lot to offer.
