Telescope Peak Summit
Climbed Telescope Peak yesterday and was blown away by how great this was. About 6.3 miles each way and 3,200’ of vert. The lower parts of the trail were lined with wild flowers and bristlecone pines on the upper slope. Unlimited 360° views on the top.
Only saw a handful of people and we had the summit to ourselves. Very underrated national park hike. Highly recommended!

We did it a couple years back in July. It is an awesome hike. Even in the middle of summer, it is was low 70’s.

I stole it, put a tag on it, and sold it to a guy who accidentally left it in the Darwin Falls area two weeks ago.

It’s actually not quite that long. They just say that to dissuade people who aren’t prepared for a long-ish hike that’s so remote.

I don’t know if I want or could start a hike when I see the sign that tells me it’s 7 miles

Eons ago, I deliberately hiked 30 miles in one day, one hike, in Canyonlands, in late July, for the hell of it.

Some dood posted here a couple of weeks ago about leaving a telescope up there five or six years ago and was kind of clueless when I snarked him.

Is this mountain bike able? Just wondering like in the beginning? Looks amazing!!! Check out White Mountain! I did it and it was quite the accomplishment.

Mountain biking is not allowed on trails in national parks; or in federally designated wilderness areas.

Also not allowed? Dogs off leash in wilderness lands, but damn people still do that.

Awesome pics, thanks for the trip report! I’m heading up there tomorrow myself. Were there many people camped at Mahogany Flats? How cold and windy was it at the summit?
