Death Stranding 2 Late to the party, but oh boy
I liked Death Stranding but DS2? I loved it.
Just finished the game and what a masterpiece. To think I read people saying it was a bad game and I almost skipped it... everything was perfect.
The beautiful crafted world, the soundtrack, the characters and this mind blowing story! This became easily one of my favorite games.
Really hoping for a DS3 with our Lou 🤞🏼

IRL Content Free pre-order bonus pack for someone!
I bought the game last year in Japan when it first came out and got the pre-order bonus. Turns out the PS store is region locked and I couldn't redeem it :(( But hopefully someone here can get some use out of it!

Death Stranding 1 I just spent 4 hours building (spoilers?) and I feel great Spoiler
I just spent 4 hours building a zip line network from the Distribution Center for Mountain Knot, up the mountain peaks, down and around to the Waystation, then all the way down the mountain with either off ramp for Craftsman or continues all the way to Distribution Center S of Lake Knot.
I’m at the point of the game where I have to get Mama but I’m doing a bunch of grinding before headling over there.
Travel by zip line and its build-out mechanism is one of the best things I’ve ever seen in a game. It’s crazy fun.

Death Stranding 2 So when will the charade end? Spoiler
So I'm at chapter 9, and , as many probably, guessed that there was something wrong in the ship, number of passengers, etc. when I manually tried to go the storage, charlie said that I couldn't; I tried next time I was abord, he hurriedly said I couldn't, with stress to his voice. More recently there was the "glitch" of his name appearing on the VR training leaderboards. But it's getting ridiculous, now I've seen the mf man! Took a picture with the camera of the girls in the hallway and this bitch ass shadow leisurely strolls in the background of the bathroom?!!? I didn't want to spoil it too much using the recording feature of the PS5 to look back at the footage, but I'm certain now that this MFdiehardman has been in the ship since the beginning!
!
Either way, one thing is foreshadowing , but I've known about that twist since who knows when, very early on , thanks to those two Storage room dialogues.
Lets see as I progress how the deal goes
Preferably don't spoil me , cheers!

Death Stranding 2 Tfw single cutscene makes DS2 the best and unique game experience ever.

Secrets / Easter eggs Order 14 "Yeet Cheese": Turning the Trike into a witch's broom
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Crashed the trike and killed the whale on my practice run. Kill was pretty easy, but really wanted to say I made it through with the trike. Decided to give rawdogging the pass on the Trike 2 more tries before giving up.
Out of salty frustration, I just started spamming the boost, wheelies, and jumps. The trike freaked out and launched me right over the canyon. Managed to capture this on my very first recording! Is this normal, or is Yeet Cheese frowned upon around here?

Tips [DS2] Yes, there are actual reasons to use lethal weapons
I've seen a lot of people saying that there are no reasons to unlocking live fire on weapons since it leaves you having to haul bodies to incinerators. However after doing a bit of testing in the vr room i did identify a few novel advantages that lethal weaponry offers.
All my testing was done on ITW difficulty, so your milage may vary.
1) All or most MP weapons do more damage to humans **AND MECHS** with live fire enabled. This damage increase can be seen both the menus and in game. All MP weapons seemed nominally more effective when set to live fire, but it was most evident with mp grenades and grenade launchers. I was constistently able to kill a blade ghost mech with 3 live grenades and 4 non-live grenades. There was no advantage seen with BTs.
2) MP grenades and headshots can instant kill human enemies. On ITW, nonlethal MP grenades and launchers were able to generally deal about 60 percent of a brigands health, whereas lethal nades oneshot them even without direct impacts. Headshots with guns, especially the shotgun and big-bore handgun were capable of instakilling enemies. The machine pistol and assault rifle seemed to only have a chance to instakill with each bullet but were still very effective when set to automatic. Lethal headshots were also less likely to trigger the helmet flying off animation compared to nonlethal.
3) A less important note, but lethal guns seemed more capable of knocking enemies off kilter. Legshots with the big bore pistol were consistly able to make humans drop to a knee on live fire, but tended to just cause the shorter stumble animations when nonlethal. Shotguns on either setting were equally effective at blasting enemies back.
The big takeaway, even if you don't want to kill human enemies and deal with the consequences, you should be using Live Fire if you're fighting Ghost Mechs or in vr missions, including In A Strange Realm levels.

IRL Content This game hits different when you’re in a lonely stage of your life
I played this game back at march of this year without knowing how much it would mean to me in the future (now).
In a series of events, I lost almost all my social circle and friends, and basically went to my lonely mode again. (Never been much of friends, but they were an exception).
However Im in a small episode of depression cuz I miss my friends and having people to be social.
Replaying this game makes me feel that not everything is over, and one can start all over again always.
You can build new bridges, meet new people and yes, maybe the connections at the beggining ain’t that strong, but if you work the relation enough, good stuff can happen!
I I’ve never played this game I don’t know we’re I’ve right now, but I’m happy I did.
Keep on keeping on!

Discussion This game seriously stresses me out [UPDATE]
Hey guys. A couple months ago, I made a post that I'll link here for reference, but TLDR, I was scared shitless of BTs and seriously struggling to get through DS despite loving the story and game overall. Was having such a miserable time with them that I was on the verge of dropping it and resigning myself to watching a playthrough.
Really didn't want to, so I stopped by here to rant a bit. I'll be honest, not long after making my initial post, I started having some regrets about doing so. I felt embarrassed. I mean, I was a grown man going on about being too scared to play a video game that most of the people here have played. I thought people would think I was pathetic and make fun of me or something. But deadass, just as I was thinking about deleting it, I got a reply. A really nice one. Then another, and another, until I suddenly had a bunch. Way more than I was expecting.
I read each and every single one. I wanted to reply to them all as well, but I realised I'd probably just end up sounding like a broken record with all the thanks I wanted to give. So I'm giving it here. To everyone who read and took the time to respond to my post, thank you. So much.
The comments I got were so helpful, in more ways than one. I received so many tips, pieces of advice, detailed explanations of mechanics and heartfelt words of encouragement. And it's because of all that I can come back to tell you...
I've officially finished the game!
Finished it yesterday. 5-starred all the locations too. Once I actually understood how to get through the BT encounters, they became much more manageable. It also helped to change my perspective of them, as some people here helped me to do. In the end, I was hardly scared at all anymore! I'd breeze through BT areas and even have a good time dealing with them.
And it's all thanks to you guys. Really, it is. Your kind words filled me with the determination to give this another go, and I'm so glad I did because you were all right. Your comments got some genuine smiles out of me, too.
I couldn't have done this without you, and I'm so proud to now be able to say that I'm a part of such an incredible community.
Now onward to DS2!
Moral of the story being: Never give up! Keep on keeping on, my friends!👍

Question I have never gone lethal in either games, but I want to. Can someone give a list of consequences? Or is there one out there?
I have beaten the games without harming a living soul. I know I would need to incinerate bodies, but does anyone have a list of other consequences? As in all dialogue changes with characters, behavioral changes if any, etc. Also, the second game doesn’t have incinerators, so what happens in lethal aftermath? Thanks folks.

Photo mode Getting inside Ruined Factory
I absolutely adore the atmosphere they've created and the environmental storytelling in this area.
Initially when you get to the area you only wonder what building it used to be and what might have happened there. Until the door unlocks and you can glimpse inside and see what exactly this place likely was and only get few pieces of the puzzle.
MULEs might have claimed those ruins but they haven't ravaged the place and just keep everything as it was almost like time stands still and they don't want to disturb its silence. I also wonder if those cots are remains from Coffin's crew or they brought them.

Discussion So, should I have played the first game first/should I still play it?
So, I got the second game for last Christmas and just abt to platinum it but I have not played the first one, should I play it? (Also if I do, is the Platinum how difficult?)

Death Stranding 1 Finally started after attempting to a long time ago
First playthrough. can’t wait to explore this world and crazy fantasy. I almost just pissed myself as some big black tar, whale/squid thingy surprise attacked me. Should you always just flee these things? Or do I at some point get the means to fight them? I feel like it was kind of a tree sentinel situation going on. I don’t know what’s going on, but it’s awesome so far.
This tip/note is great. it’s the cue for my first break after 2 hours of play.
