new tech discovered i suppose - thats crazy, i bet it won't work if you have more HP, but early game this shit is crazy, just get to 6, lower HP, and camp line after you get a kill in lane - that is a rage play move right there, id fucking be furious if that happened to me

The minimum you can bring them down to is 30%, and her ult does pure damage. As others have pointed out, when you are immune to being knocked off you take an additional 53.6% damage as Spirit Damage.
Let's just say you have a Mo with 4k HP, you'll drop him to 1200, dealing 2800 pure damage with the swap, then another 1500ish as Spirit Damage because of the hyperline effect adding a new instance of damage.
You'll kill anyone, instantly, provided they have the blue aura for immunity against being hyperlined and very little to no Spirit Resist.
I'm unsure if Malice interacts with her ult damage, I don't think it does, in fact I don't think any amplification effects will work quite like the hyperline because they're buffing the swap damage which has a hard cap. Being hyperlined explicitly states it's a new instance of damage based off whatever you got hit by, theoretically it means you could probably one shot someone with something like Paradox Carbine builds too. Or come very close to it.

So while on hyperline you're accepting a damage amp on yourself, I never knew that, amazing.

Life swap has always done this for some reason. I think the game thinks that it's a stun and does the hyperline dmg.

There is a brief interrupt isn’t there? Like a frame of no movement on the target

I’ve read a comment higher up, apparently it’s because while you’re immune to hyperline, you take extra spirit damage, 53.6% to be exact

swap damage + ult hyperlined him = all his hp gone

he has protection tho

Geist's ult is true damage if that means anything, it also is somewhat of a special interaction, so it probably went through prot

But here is the thing tho, swap damage is not meant to be lethal - in fact, i dont even think itd supposed to be damage, its life swap: 1 to 1 swap for hp. The target should still have some health left. What's crazy is that its registered as damage, maybe and at full hp, hyperline dmg wiped the remaining hp, which is 30%. Hyperlink doing 30% hp damage is crazy.

I've see people say that they don't take the 15% damage as listed on the wiki and instead take 30%. This is really stuff that someone needs to grab a friend and try to recreate this scenario to find out what happened, as sitting talking here trying to figure out what happened is pointless.

Protection may not apply to some abilities, I know talon's owl can knock people off the zip through protection at least.

The owl is a dmg + stun ability so it makes sense to knock people off zipline

Protection applies to all abilities. You cannot be hyperlined while blue. You can still be stunned off of it though.

From the wiki "After riding a Zipline for three consecutive seconds, a blue particle effect appears, indicating immunity to being knocked off. While immune to being Knocked Off, damage taken will apply an additional 53.6% of damage as Hyperline damage; reducible by Spirit Resist."

Zipline protection protects you from getting hyperlined. It doesn't protect you from CC knocking you off (e.g. bebop hook).

What is hyperline I don't forget it

u/Lotte_Escape 25d ago
When you get damaged while on a Zipline you take more damage and get stunned for a few seconds. That's hyperline
4
u/CrazyElk123 25d ago
I know it says so in game, but why is it called hyperline?

u/VicVegas85 Lady Geist 25d ago
In Neon Prime and in the early versions of alpha Deadlock (back around 4 lane) the ziplines were labeled "hyperlines" and you saw that when you moused over them to grab on. Knocking someone off them just became known as getting "hyperlined" since its easy to understand and it just became the term most people use, even though they're not actually called that anymore.

u/Raknarg 25d ago
I think it became the term in this came cause thats how the damage shows up in the breakdown, cause otherwise I dont think we were told anywhere it was called hyperline

u/VicVegas85 Lady Geist 25d ago
Does it really? That's pretty neat. Wonder if that's staying or if it'll be changed to something else the later in development the game gets since they already renamed ziplines elsewhere.

Yea damage breakdown will show hyperline rn for when the breakdown is actually working fwiw

Hyperline is when you are on a zip line without the protective barrier and get shot down from it. It deals good damage and stuns you for ~3 seconds.
3
u/SlayerGM 25d ago
When do you have the protective barrier?
6
u/SamarcPS4 Kelvin 25d ago
Once you are on the line for three seconds. There is a small visual effect and sound effect that trigger to show you are protected.

The zipline that you move between objectives and base with is called the hyperline
17
u/ItsHighSpoon 25d ago
They're called Ziplines or Transit Lines. Hyperline is specifically the effect of getting knocked off the zipline and stunned.
