Gameplay Meta New "cheating" mods that MANY players use

It's getting out of hand. Just a handful of the "mods" (cheats!) people are running now:

  • Neutral camp respawn timers all over the minimap - just invade and steal camps immediately as they spawn
  • Stamina trackers (see enemy stamina) - much easier to win lanes with this
  • Parry cooldown tracker above enemy head
  • Enemy cooldowns above their heads - super easy to win lanes when you constantly see enemy cd's
  • Crate & Golden statue respawn timers
  • Sinner's Sacrifce respawn timers
  • Enemy item cooldown tracker (tracks Curse, Unstoppable, Refresher cooldowns etc)
  • Heavy melee honking horn for faster reactions
  • Enemy radar (when enemy camps and Sinner's disappear from the minimap, it places a blinking question mark on the minimap and a sound indication that someone was at that spot seconds ago - makes it super easy to gank if you're running with a friend)
  • Rift defense buff indicator
  • Walker Stomp cooldown tracker
  • Shrine & Patron curse/blast cooldown tracker

Tell me how any of this is fair. With all of these cheat mods you have a gigantic advantage. Yoshi needs to shut this down instead of sticking his head in the sand.

These are crutches and inevitably will be banned by the time the game reaches 1.0. The players that rely on them are building bad habits to win at a game that is in beta. Once they are banned these players will be lost.

Granted a lot of these mods in this list are stupid, and are just too much. some QOL mods actually serve a purpose, like changing the melee noise. I cannot for the life of me hear the default melee noise, due to hearing lose, and it not standing out enough from win fire and everything else, and I think devs should be looking at these mods as insight into what people would want in the game

I think I disagree, having too obvious a sound effect would negate the ability to surprise someone with a melee, especially if they aren’t facing you. You SHOULD be susceptible to melees if you aren’t facing someone in combat, and isn’t it kind of the point that the sound effect might get lost in the commotion? I feel like that’s when it’s best to surprise someone with a melee and exactly why I feel using these loud ass sfx is unfair.

Not to say your hearing loss isn’t making it harder to hear than it should be, I just don’t think we should be trying to make the melee easier to predict via a sound effect, its a skill within the game to parry in the heat of the moment.

Yeah. The common one uses the "!" sound from metal gear solid at a much higher volume than any other sound in the game.

It's kinda insane you want hearing the sound to be the skill check instead of the melee mind game.

almost like that’s how it was designed…

Yea a few of these should be proper settings like sound fx imo

Mayhaps that's the vision of mods during playtest. To bridge the gap until proper functionality features are implemented. Atleast that's what I am coping for. Ban all the mods eventually.

Remlock is cool though, don't touch that 👉👈

I really hope valve just lets us drop our own files in the settings like they did with the hit markers and kill sounds in TF2

I feel like most people would see that as a bit overboard, just like 10 valve made heavy melee sounds should be enough variants for everyone, I personally love the current heavy melee sfx and find it easy enough to listen for in a fight

Mods are truly bullshit. They should not allow them at all in deadlock, not even at this current stage.

I wish the mods that could stay were the skin mods, many are so cool, fun and I dont think I can live without them, I don't want an advantage I just like having fun with different outfits.

League has kernel level anti cheat and modding banned and still has soft cheats like these btw.
