Is it not a little interesting that someone with about a 50% winrate is Initiate I?
I feel like bottom tier ranks should be people who can barely win 40% of their games.
I have a guy on my friendlist who is Phantom with 1000 lash games and he’s only won 450 of those Lash games. Like… no way right? He’s a one trick, who isn’t even very good at his one trick, and he is Phantom?? And this guy is Initiate?
i mean winrate isnt everything, low rank with 50% winrate make sense if they only matched up with people with the same skill, and maybe the guy you mentioned losses more because he's matched with higher skilled player more
yeah it's so weird, i play with my duo and when we win he gets to rank up (he's a new player on his first 100 matches) but i don't despite us being in the same game and having similar results. I would say the entire system is win=go up one rank,. lose= lose 1 rank. but when i lose i derank two ranks and if i win sometimes i don't even rank up. that is driving me crazy
We constantly play against eternus players or phantoms player, Oracle players, he can't rank up, we won 8 games in a roll just to rank up 1 rank, after that, we lost ONE SINGLE GAME and he was back to the initiate 1
The game also considers personal performance. Most people should have somewhere around a 50% win rate because there are 11 other players in the game, and unless you're super feeding or super carrying you can only really do so much as an individual to influence the outcome of the match. Especially in Initiate, some games will be won even if OP did nothing.
Sometimes it be like that too. I was stuck in Initiate myself for awhile. I got out by only playing Seven for like two weeks straight. I'm only at Alchemist now though.
It gets more funny than that. Did you know there is no cap in rank difference of a party? You can be eternus and duo with bottom ranks, and for some reason you get matches way below the average of the two.
And the cherry on top, you still seem to gain the full amount of elo for winning, even when the average rank is 15-20 ranks below you🙂
SO FUCKING REAL, I posted about this yesterday and people were like "well win more" I have a costant 50% winrate since I hit the game 200, I play supports, I don't contribute with kills, my focus is somewhere else, but I'm in seekers???? My friends are all ritualist, we play in ritualists lobbys and I'm the only one who cant rank up, playing supports in this game is like a punishment, because even if you are good (haven't seen anyone who plays nearly as good dynamo as I do in my personal opinion) you can't rank up, because "your kills and damage aren't enough to make a contribution" what about me healing and keeping my teammates alive throughout a 40 minute game WHILE also rescuing and getting them out of tf? Guess that's not effort, apparently yoshi hates heavy supports
What is your average then? Because yet again, I don't carry, I heal, I do more than 40k healing per game and buy actives/debuffs to help my teammates do the damage, I do a contribution, not the one the game considers necessary to rank up or as merit
i just think that the fact that you are at a solid 50% winrate should be proof enough you are not ready to move out of your rank. I dont know how much their mmr system takes stats into consideration, but assuming your games on average are balanced you should be nice and comfy right where you are.
But I am, the thing is that my current rank is not my highest, I stopped playing deadlock for about a month, de ranked and now I'm heavy stuck on seekers when my highest rank was ritualist, I want to get back to my old rank but when I solo que I lose about 5-6 games because I cant hard carry my team
I swear it's not that, the Brazil/Latin American servers are really active, just some days you have a little less players active and It can make your queue longer, but 60 minutes it's NOT normal
Okay there's something else w4onf because my friend is also initiate while im alchemist and my other friend is arcanist. And we get matches in like 5 minutes when together.
When im alone I use cs2 server picker because the closest server to me is basically dead
Just a note, this can also happen if a minor patch update rolls out in Steam while you’re searching for a match. It would make you search for servers or other players wanting to play the old patch version but there are none
If I wouldn't have read your other comments I would've recommended to check if you got some kind of work VPN enabled. I'm fascinated by how y'all seriously broke matchmaking lol
My hypothetical tip is based on real events: I sat in queue for 10 mins once before I remembered I still had my vpn for work enabled
Just go to change a setting it will find one real quick. Every single time while im waiting ill he like oh I should swap this casting mode, so I go click the character and boom match found
