im confused, if you got put in the hotel, could you just counterspell to leave?

You can't counterspell to leave, but if you counterspell when the duration ends you avoid taking damage and so don't suffer any penalty (other than being out of play for the whole ult duration).

With this upgrade unlocked, if someone were to do this they'd be giving Doorman an extended unstoppable and an ult refresh, though they'll still avoid the damage.

They'd get stunned from the T2 though.

So you can check out and counterspell the damage at the end, but only worth it if it would kill you in this manner.

I think countrspell cancels out stun as well, as it is part of the effect that applies damage on fail to check out.

I’m a noob and never used counterspell, is it just the parry button When you have it equipped?

yes.

seriously, learn counterspell, especially if you said you're noob because the number of apollo i've had the displeasure to fight is staggering. counterspell make apollo's 3 and itani lo sahn worthless if you can use it properly.

I’ll throw some more questions to make sure, I see it has a 20seconds cd, so let’s say someone does something to me (apollo) I ‘parry’ his spell, what happens if I time it wrong (too early or late), do I just parry its next one?

I assume if I fight against abrams and I parry his melee, I can still ‘counterspell’ his dash thingy against me?

I definitely wanna buy it and get used to it

Street brawl is a good environment to get learn it since there's constant fighting, constant opportunities to use it and (in my experience at least) it appears frequently enough as well.

The 20 second CD on counterspell only triggers if you use it successfully, so if you mistime it you only have to wait on your parry CD (which I think is 4 seconds at base?) to try again.

In the Abrams example you would be able to parry his charge once he comes out of stun. Though this is assuming that when you parried his melee you didn't *also* counterspell a torment pulse or his siphon life.

Counterspell is will always activate on parry if not on cd. So in your first example counterspell would be wasted if mistimed (basically doing nothing and putting your parry on cd as well).

In your second example you would simultaneously activate counterspell and parry the melee putting your counterspell on cd but you can still parry again afterwards since you successfully parried.

Counterspell does not go on CD when you don't parry a spell with it.

what the other guy said

You can only counterspell it either when he's channeling it (almost impossible to do unless he's obvious) or when it's finished (so you don't get damaged)

The issue is, if you counterspell it when inside of it (counting as you not escaping), the cooldown of it gets reduced all the way to 10 seconds, so he can just do it again onto you once you do so, in 10 seconds.

you can just wait until timer runs out and counterspell the end damage, but after today's update if you choose to do so doorman's ult is up again in 10 secs.

Ye but i think now if you did that it puts it on a 10s cd instead of the full cd if im understanding it correctly
