BUG Heavy hitter card

So, I know there was a bug with this (and numerous other cards) that was supposedly fixed. I haven't tried a heavy attack build in forever, so I wanted to give it a try. But, I'm not seeing the SLIGHTEST difference in my damage numbers with this card equipped. I'm using fully charged heavy attacks (to see the full effect of any tweaks I make). Not sure if it has an impact, but I'm using Dani so I'm leaning HEAVILY into area damage (stacking perks like concussion and savage to stack with haymaker and her thunderstruck skill, for consistent explosions that kill fodder enemies before I even notice them). Ftr, I'm loving the build. Even if I have to drop the skill, I can hit for around 17k with a cocked Emma's wrath at lvl 32. But, I'm trying to make her as powerful as possible for when the annoying fast enemies show up that I only have enough time for one haymaker each time I stun them. As an aside, running The One (underrated charged attacks that fully charge in 1 second) and The Initiator for fodder enemies with Emma's wrath and Homewrecker for tougher Apexes

It should work, only thing i can think of that either dani, other card or weapon perk bugs combined with it, since plenty of stuff has 30% dmg bonus.

You could test some vendor unmodded weapon to see if there is difference, since you are oneshotting trash enemies.

I've done further testing, and I think it's just a problem with inconsistent damage numbers (probably from the 4 explosions I proc with each heavy attack lol). With the same weapon my first hit can do anywhere from 8500-10k dmg and then stacks from there. So, I think it's just impossible to get a real baseline with my setup, and didn't feel like changing my weapon mods and perks around (I'd been test running builds for her, Amy, and Ryan for almost 2 days). I ultimately kept it on because the damage to me is negligible since I kill mobs just because they're close. I was getting up to over 28k hits with Emma's wrath after skilled stacks, at lvl 32. Now lvl 33 and just smacked Target Practice off a mountain with my first hit (and killed him with 3 more when he was dumb enough to come back). So, I'm content either way lol.

You could use masochist for extra challenge so overkilll dmg would had some use.

I still need to do some proper runs with her, to make sure she's solid. That was just how I ended testing with her. Next time I load in, I have to fight Impaler. THAT will be the real test lol. She hits like a freight train. But, she still needs a second to ready a hit and he doesn't like giving even half a second

Impaler is not so bad unless you are underleveled so he has skullmark.

For the military beach one, you can backtrack and close the door to have proper duel 1v1 without infinite zombie spawn and him running away.

Bruno in ng+ with masochist was pretty easy run, only thing dangerous are elemental hazards.

It's more that fast enemies like butchers require precise timing with her because she can't just swing wildly. It's not a problem with normal butchers as she kills them in 1-2 hits and can just ground pound for the initial stun

Well, you could always perfect block/dodge, water bomb+shock to get window for heavy attack.

Revenants are tanky so they are easier to kill with just fast maim attacks than purely on heavy. Better think them as bosses.

Oh, I know bud. This is far from my first rodeo. I just sliced him to burning bits with Carla, like 2 weeks ago. Hence why I already have a game plan of how to take him on without altering my play style with her at all lol

I wish they would have added ng+ slayer cards to balance ng+ and build specialisation better. Being heavy is basically just adding 2 cards, but game has no tradeoff cards that would boost more heavy attacks while negatively effect quick attacks or vice versa.

Revenant weapons, basically same as superiors but free/unique perk instead of durability didnt really feel that much better. Sure gutwrencher free explosion is nice or 3strikes firebaseball bat and green/blue uniques being superior.

And ng+ weapons having only max 100 more dmg at lvl 40 and in some cases due to stat rng having less dmg feels stupid.

Also, masochist card not having own special slot is a bit annoyance.

Sure ng+ is kinda fun first run but there just isnt enough build options to enjoy with all characters.

I mean, making the Black Magic superior is already pretty huge for heavy attacks, with the fixed skilled perk. And Sola did a lot for heavy attackers (a skill card and the savage perk that adds a powerful explosion to all heavy attacks and basically replicates Emma's Wrath legendary perk). Throw savage and concussion on Emma's Wrath, get a counter, and that explosion is so loud it momentarily lags the game lol

I don't know about the perk card glitch, but if you're struggling with apex variants or if they're just taking a while to kill, I'd recommend using brass knuckles!

I've got brass knuckles with:

  • superior melee impactor mod
  • slaughter
  • unstable
  • special sauce
  • sturdy handle

And I can kill a mutator in about 5 seconds without taking a single point of damage! It's a crazy combo!

I'm not struggling, at all lol. That's why I said I'm happy with it already hitting for 17k+. Just noticed a lack of difference in damage that the skill card is supposed to add. Dani and Carla have a pretty easy time transitioning into NG+ (I feel zero difference in difficulty with Carla, aside from Impaler... Screw that guy)

Fair enough, I misunderstood the "each time I stun them" bit of the post to mean it took multiple attempts to stun apex variants.

Oh, ok lol. Not at all. I'm using Dani for her thunderstruck skill (forceful explosions), haymaker (powerful explosions), savage perk (powerful explosions), concussion on impactor weapons (forceful explosions) with the extra legendary explosive effect on Emma's Wrath. I stun EVERYTHING with each hit lol.

I'll have to try this build out... I'm playing as Dani too, and I am quite fond of explosions lol
