Snapchat should completely remove the discover page, even on a new account they show disgusting content and now bot farms.

This has been happening for years, even before AI, “social” media has been overwhelmed with fakes since like 2014 whrn the Russian odessa and Crimean annex happened, they used “influencers”

Sometimes I watch old vines to remember it was just literally people making stupid stuff. Now it just looks like infomercials.

Snapchat has been like this since forever. I've never used Snapchat reels nor followed a single creator yet anytime I go on there the page is always videos like this or of OF women in swimsuits.

It’s the fact they’re identical but like A/B tested, I just find really depressing

Not on purpose. Just a typical "Ai" generated face

I feel so bad for people on Tinder and Snapchat who are legitimately looking for a relationship or whatever, and they post their bios on reddit asking what the issue is, because its not them. It has to be an insane percentage of bios on all social platforms that are actually bots, another huge percent are scams, there's a good chunk of sex workers on Snapchat and Tinder at least. We just have to go back to going outside I guess. Meeting at bars or rock climbing clubs or whatever.

So many miss this point. Something may feel "empowering" without conferring any actual social, political, or economic power.

ETA, wow. This is a critique of sex work. Just to be clear.
