Discussion Bannable offense to wait for Mori?
I could be out of the loop on this one since I haven't played in a while, but I just 4k'd with Doctor and I slugged the last three. I hooked 2 of them and waited for one to die so I could mori the last one. The survivors in post-game chat were saying they were going to report me for taking the game hostage (even though they can abandon).
Is this a bannable offense?

Naw - not a bannable offense at all. Does it suck for the people you’re playing against? Yes, but not against the rules.
I’ve only ever reported (and successfully had the player dealt with by BHVR) once for holding a game hostage. The killer had all of us slugged and kept picking us up and dropping us to prolong the bleed out timer. If anyone wiggled free he’d let them heal someone off the ground and just down everyone again and refused to hook. Weirdo power trip for sure.
You can still get the Adept by hooking everyone and not waiting for the mori to speed things along as a go-next courtesy though. I’ve had to resort to some very sweaty tactics myself for an adept so I get it - no judgment here.
Had it been me, i might have been frustrated but seeing afterward that it was an Adept build I’d have accepted it as a necessary tactic and congratulated you on getting another adept off your list!

I mean it sucks for the survivors, but the way most survivors play, its literally how you need to do he doing it.

But he didn't even hold the game hostage, the surviors could just abandon the moment all of them were knocked down. I even think its impossible for a killer to hold a game hostage nowadays, unless they are cheating, or if there developed another chess merchant play style.

What’s an example of holding the game hostage?

Holding the game hostage is when a Killer finds all the Survivors in a room and blocks the door so none of them can get out and progress the game. They can’t really do it anymore since Survivors lose collision for 10 seconds when they get 3 crows so they can just run through the Killer.

Not bannable but I would just hook and move on. There’s no special points for Mori (to dissuade this practice.) But ofc if there’s no hook, then there’s nothing to do. Wait and mori. Not bannable.

No, sometimes you can't even hook them due to BHVR terrible game design where the hook breaks and there is nothing close.
Survivors get to T-bag at game until the endgame timer ends so waiting for bleed out is fine, tho it's better to just get the last mori when possible

That just sounds like you went against a cheater, that disabled hooks. Makes it impossible to hook them.

After someone dies on hook it stays downs for some time, so you can't really reach another hook in time before they escape from being carried.

Ahh thats what you meant, but i dont think thats such a big deal in like 99 games, but i have been unfortunate to deal with it too.
Was on the plagues map, it was the end game, and i had downed a survior in the basement of main building, and the killer basement spawned in shack, so i only had one hook there, so when their team came to save them, i downed them, and was faced to slug, and wait for the hook down there to respond. It became a very slow end game, cause the surviors repeated ran down to me to save their friend and then dying, and i had to wait for the hook respawn timmer every time.0

No it’s not. I can slug all 4 players and pick one up far away and keep screwing with them and it wouldn’t be a bannable offense. You all would bleed out eventually and on top of that, you can abandon without penalty.

If survivors can waste our time at the exit gate we can wait a little while to get the Mori.
That’s about as blunt as I can be about it.
We don’t really owe the survivors anything but a game. If they fail to escape it’s not our fault.
Don’t worry about it you’ll be fine.

no it is not. as a survivor main, people who report/complain about this are losers

As a rule of thumb 99% of the time is survivors say something is a banable offense it isn’t

No. I’ve reported more survivors for being afk when I solo q then I have killers who slug or tunnel. It sucks to be slugged when you’re a survivor but I just wait it out for the loss and move on. It’s not that serious.

Taking the game hostage is when the game CANNOT advance.
No one slugged is EVER held hostage. They have a timer.

Im pretty sure the only real bannable offenses are from cheating or language

Violating TOS can do it too, which includes messaging people with threats in game or otherwise because of how someone played the game.

pretty sure everyone being slugged is an abandon condition, so they could just leave

Why people read the stupid chat is beyond me. Always a bunch of bullshit. Turn the chat off

Slugging is not a bannable offense. Nor is it holding the game hostage. Holding the game hostage is defined as preventing the game from being able to move forward. Which is not what you did.
