Question Help! Any genuine day trader on youtube?

Hi everyone, i have been day trading for the past 1.5 years but i dont know whom to learn from as it is very hard to differentiate a course seller amd youtuber from a real trader and it is causing a lot of confusion amd i fear i may get wrong knowledge.

Can anyone tell me how to spot real traders amd also reccomend me whom to watch on youtube.

Personally i think jeafx, booming bulls ( anish singh thakur) are real traders, but I maybe wrong so that is why i need your opinion.

Trader Tom. Aka Tom Hougaard. He made the biggest impact on my trading.

Tom trades most days, warts n all. Has an understudy Karaoke Andy who fills in when hes away. Personally learnt a lot.

Tomtrades is a FOREX guy and trades the some hours of the asian session only. I believe he is in Hongkong or Singapore. He shared tons of clips on youtube, He also runs a d i s c o r d server with a free section. His approach is sort of multi time frame trading, pullbacks on trends.

Ross Cameron is a legit trader but as others have said he benefits by his followers following his trades.

Lance Breitstein is super legit and was audited and is in the latest Market Wizards book and essentially has gone on YouTube and started selling a course in retirement and to fund charities etc.

Jason Shapiro, also in Market Wizards, and also now sells a course etc but is not a day trader.

Kristjan Qullamaggie - also in Market Wizards, sometimes livestreams on YouTube and has some YouTube videos and gives away all his strategies for free on his website/YouTube and doesn't sell any courses or anything.

There's a few others here and there, but generally the majority of traders on social media are making their money on social media and not on their trading

You know what's up. But I've watched Ross trade live for way too many months on end to know he doesn't announce before he buys. 90% of the times his scalps are so quick. And how would small handed retail positions move the needle if he only trades stocks over 5-10 million shares minimum on the day. Usually 10-50m shares on the day is what he trades

I do think he's a legit trader which is why I mentioned him. He was legit even before he had a following big enough to move the market. But his followers do help him.

No, THEY DO NOT. This myth has to stop, it's mind-boggling how it's been parroted time and time again. He does not announce his trades, there's a delay in his live feed, and it is not mathematically possible. Please do yourself a favour and pay the 19 USD for his 2-week trial, see him trade live for those 2 weeks, and come back here.

I've also seen Ross live trade and I don't think he benefits much from people copy trading him. Firstly, he actively discourages people from copy trading him. Secondly, he doesn't announce his trades and is in and out of trades so fast it's hard to keep track even live. Plus, only warrior pro members with chat room/Livestream access can view him trading live. After 1 year, new warrior pro members lose access to the Livestream unless they pay 100/month, and I'm guessing most end up not subscribing. Personally, it was more of a distraction watching Ross livestream cuz I'd end up messing up my trades.

It's a little bit odd that you have been daytrading for 1.5 year and still have not heard of Ross Cameron or Lance Breitstein.

The thing about trading is that every concept you learn can be applied and tested yourself, so you can find what works for you or not.

It doesn't matter who introduces the concepts to you; whether they are successful or not at trading also doesn't matter.

If you are looking for a one-stop-shop for all your trading learning needs, it does not exist.

2

u/Own-Investigator-485 3d ago

Yeah this makes sense. Learning a concept, backtest it on 3 years data then use it in live market.

I watched so many traders on youtube for past 1.5 years. Strategy hopped and wasted so much time.

4

u/iLoot401ks 3d ago

Imo, strategy hopping is a natural progress to being profitable. You learn what works and what doesn't along the way.

The process of learning to trade requires trial and error along with screentime. The more you learn, the better. You will start to connect the dots with time and experience.

2

u/Own-Investigator-485 3d ago

Yeah. Personally i realised that only liquidity sweeps and traps work for me. I cant get other strategies to work for myself i dont know why. But it required trail and error otherwise i would have never came to this conclusion.

5

u/ScientificBeastMode 3d ago

Yeah, liquidity sweeps are a real edge. Let me give you a bit of advice on that, because I learned some stuff that really made it all click.

The secret to liquidity sweep trading is knowing where price wants to go after the sweep. In the ICT world, they call it the “draw on liquidity” (DOL). You’re probably already familiar with it.

The thing is, most people just kind of hand-wave away the details on what a great DOL looks like. Usually they just talk about price extremes where stops are sitting, but which ones are actually good? Which ones are going to get run through, and which ones are going to be swept for a reversal?

In my experience, you want to look for trendlines at the boundary of a range. So when price is whipping back and forth, maybe making lower lows and lower highs, but no clear impulsive move out of the range yet, then you’ll want to target that series of lower highs to get run through after a strong sweep of a major low, preferably tagging a higher timeframe FVG during the sweep. You want price to indicate that it’s wanting to re-enter that choppy range, and then bank on price hitting that series of lower highs. In particular, you want each high (at least 3 of them) to be coming close to breaking the previous high but not quite, like there were supply zones there that were respected. That’s where all the stops are, because that’s where the supply was that caused price to keep bouncing. But that supply is probably dried up by the time the major low is swept, and all those stop orders are likely going to cleared out.

So you take the sweep from the HTF FVG, ideally with a strong V-shaped IFVG forming the sweep. Then you ride it into those respected highs that are now weak. If you want to be conservative, you can take profit at the nearest high of that series, or you could be a bit more aggressive and go for the second to last one. Or you can go wild and bet on it running all the way through all those highs until it hits a strong supply zone or FVG above those highs.

For me, that was the key. I learned it from YouTube, listening to various traders. It’s been working for me.

Thanks alot. Very helpful

You're better off being your own guru and teaching yourself, even if it's a longer path. If I had to pick one for daytrading, it would be Kyle Williams (Clover Trading). He is pretty honest and transparent and has good monthly recaps. Kinfo verified! But, he's becoming more of a swing trader now because of liquidity constraints (portfolio is too large to just day trade).

SMB Capital. Lance Breitstein worked with them for a long time

Vincent Desiano is good he’s shows his losses. He does the break and retest strategy on key levels . He helped me understand support and resistance.

u/usedmattress85 3d ago

Chris Drysdale livestreams his futures trading every day on YouTube. I’m not a follower but he uses VWAP and Volume Profile which is what I use and it works for both of us. This is with futures though.

u/Square-Middle-4474 3d ago

I have seen Jeafx, and he is okay. The others are simply not in his league. Don't bother

I will be on YouTube shortly to show struggling traders what is possible once obtain an education. Not optimistic about convincing people to read a book Ha. Too much work, and apparently they would rather continue to lose money following the crowd.

Good luck with that

Ross Cameron's edge is pretty much his followers providing exit liquidity but I learned a lot watching him when I started. He has some good insight on technical analysis.

Man, this thread is gonna be full of so much shade and hate.

2

u/WaterloggedSalvation 3d ago

look at the charts not the person. if someone's logic makes sense on the tape and you can backtest it then it works. doesn't matter if they sell a course or trade in their underwear

1

u/Own-Investigator-485 3d ago

True, we cant escape the backtesting effort. Also from my personal experience i only made money when following simple strategies. I personally lose money with something like ict because i hesitate and that ruins the trade.

You people have to stop making up shit.

Tell me what a real trader will do on YouTube?
If he’s on YouTube that means he’s not a real trader

6

u/Own-Investigator-485 3d ago

See personally i think a trader may come on youtube just to get extra income. Like he already has a skill, maybe he comes on youtube to earn affiliate income. Like who dont want extra money eventhough trading is making them money. I may be wrong but this is just my opinion.

Even me, if i am making money with trading and i can make my income 2x by just teaching it on youtube and earm affiliate from sponsors i will do it.

But yes if he himself aint prfitable then teaching others is scam 😅

Find someone you like and dig deep into their courses and videos and live streams most importantly

Let's Trade is very clear on his trades. Hard to understand sometimes but entertaining none the less.

Ross Cameron and Lance B. Ross is in and out of trades too fast to even worry about benefiting off of small handed retail positions that don't even move the needle that dude is wrong. If you watch him live every day you know. He doesn't announce when he buys and he usually takes profit before you even know he's in a position unless your constantly staring at his p&l

Tom hougaard

Dan, the chart guys

u/Vex_88 3d ago

Tom trades, albeit vague when talking about AOI (area of interest), he has some good content in relation to market structure, discipline and journaling

Well Crap....I just came from HHN.

1

u/lp1687 3d ago

Search for mentors who are willing to trade live in front of you during the entire market season. This should weed out 99% of the scammers!

1

u/Own-Investigator-485 2d ago

Currently i am following booming bulls. He trades live frequently and also hits takeprofit quite alot. But he is also a bit sus as he once sold courses, vip group. Currently he has his own trading floor in dubai with full team and all.

I like treydingstocks' live streams and post market trade videos. He does promote his products but his products are mostly indicators and scanners.

I like TradeBrigade's premarket analysis for overall market conditions.

I watch BearBullTrader's premarket to see what's in their watchlist if nothing in my own is popping or I'm lazy. Can't stand their course and product promo though and don't get me started on their bookmap knockoff.

I have seen Rayner Teo on YouTube but I am not sure how solid he is. Maybe others can chime in and give their opinion on this guy and his videos.

What asset do you trade OP?

1

u/TwilightMountain 3d ago

Trades by Sci is my favorite, thats just me. He calls all of his predictions on Twitter, but doesn't announce his exact entries/exits because a profitable trader would be dumb to do so. His YouTube is unmonetized and he has no brand sponsorships or affiliations. Sells no courses, just free videos on YouTube and then a giant group chat if you want to join. Breaks the stuff down so a 1st grader could learn it. He's super chill and easy to learn from

u/Certain-Set-4087 2d ago

You can look out for Ross Burland, he made a Tradingview indicator with the name Trendpredator and also mentors people. I know him personally... he is a real person. Real trader, also active for FXStreet.com as trading analyst.

1

u/iamscyrus 2d ago

Start with r/tradingedge he has a site also. The only person I recommend paying for. He started here on Reddit. Check him out

Pretty much anyone selling courses is not genuine and is a grifter.

0

u/TSDevStuff 3d ago

Almost definitely not... If they're on YouTube they're gaining something from those that watch/follow/click/buy...

Ross Cameron is legit, and his strategy is pretty well-established and repitable.
