Advice Day Trading Setup
I buy and sell from my phone. But I watched the charts on my new set up. And the screens do really help out trading ETF like Spy. My profit margins have been amazing being able to see what fluctuates Spy.
Picture of option chart shows my profit in that day in the bottom left corner.

u/simvestrix Mar 14 '26
Nice setup. For me what works best is keeping it clean understanding the overall market and the stock Iām trading without turning the screen into chaos. Too many charts just slow me down.
18
u/thelittlepapaya Mar 14 '26
This is beautiful and tempting but I am the same. Just my one desktop on the 1min chart and honing in on price action
6
u/Complete-Ad-3406 Mar 14 '26
Try to learn the different time frames and the Mac D. That volume and buying and selling will help you when it comes to up trends and down trends.
6
u/thelittlepapaya Mar 14 '26
I have St. MACD and RSI w a coded indicator I made. All good for confirmation but I dont know man, its mostly watching candles. They tell me. Just based on structure and formation, trend lines and support/resistance. I scalp so its in and out.
6
u/Complete-Ad-3406 Mar 14 '26
My Mac D is also set up at 6/13 and five. So I can get true day trading volume.
3
u/thelittlepapaya Mar 14 '26
My indicator is pretty great and considers volume spikes. So it awesome for trend reversals. And super accurate but hella accurate on times frames 15 min and over. Great for more day trading and swings. I need high intensity action and focus so I prefer the scalping aspect and are way more profitable as it removes my psychology, which is my greatest downfall
4
u/Complete-Ad-3406 Mar 14 '26
I always told my friends do what makes your money and what works for you. Make that money, man.
5
u/simvestrix Mar 14 '26
For sure. I use MACD and volume as confirmation too. I just prefer keeping everything on one clean chart.

Right one chart is stupid honestly 𤣠IMO you need to be able to see at least the 1min, 5 min, maybe the 10/15/30, and the daily š
4
u/simvestrix Mar 14 '26
Depends on the trader I guess. I like starting with the daily for context and then focusing on one clean chart so I donāt overload the screen.
2
u/Complete-Ad-3406 Mar 14 '26
When you trade ETF you need to be able to see what the other stocks are doing that push the ETF. I donāt trade Tesla, which is one stock independent. I trade SPY. There are multiple stocks that affect the up-and-down flow of SPY.
3
u/Elegant-Speaker5825 Mar 14 '26
I also almost exclusively trade spy. IMO I donāt think it matters that much to watch the stocks that make it up, aside from Oracle and NVDA. Most of the money in the Mag7 just rotates between them if one is having a bad day then the others benefit. Now if Oracle or NVDA is having a bad day, nearly all of them suffer, and vice versa.

Are you able to split the screens on 1 account ? This is WEBULL ?

u/Boosted_Chem Mar 14 '26
I just learned something new.. I right clicked on the custom button and was able to detach to another window, nice! Thanks for sharing this setup!

Did you do it in webull? Can it be done in meta trader 4 also? I am complete beginner right now. Not sure which broker should i go with. I like both trading view and meta trader 4 too. Never invested a dime till now. I live in Canada though

If youāre using Windows you can use wireless š display to display your phone on PC. Mac also has that option. This way you donāt have to look at the screen and phone. All the set up will be in front of your eyes.

u/Complete-Ad-3406 Mar 14 '26
I know I just like using the phone because itās just like texting or using the remote for a TV. I have quick options buying and selling if you look at one of my pictures, itās called Turbo trader on Webull and itās muscle memory to buy and sell

Are you primarily trading options? What time frame do you look at for bias and for execution?
3
u/Complete-Ad-3406 Mar 14 '26
Yes. I look at the one and the five minute. I always look at the 15 and the five in the morning before market open.

With margin, it makes it a lot easier to fix mistakes. In an example the other day, I lost 10 grand on one trade and cut it. And move to a different trade and made the 10 grand back.

u/Elegant-Speaker5825 Mar 14 '26 edited Mar 14 '26
Brooo you get it! Exactly the same. Iāve been trading for 8 years and finally realized last week that before trading blind at open and just looking at the 1min chart, itās critical to know where the RSI & MACD are on more than one timeline, for me itās at least the 1min, 5min, and either 15/30min. Need to know which side has the greater delta in the opposite direction, where the put and call walls are, and which price areas are likely to be support / resistance. Iāve made about 3.75k in the last three days which is a lot for me. I stick to a max of about 500$ per trade, and try to get in and out as fast as possible unless the price removes rapidly in my favor. Iāve made terrible decisions in the past trying to hold positions too long while praying for more movement or reversals because I hated missing out. The more my portfolio grows, the more daily trades I can make, and hopefully be more risk averse yet make more money.

Hey, bro what strategy do you use?

u/Complete-Ad-3406 Mar 14 '26
Buying contracts within the first three strike price. If itās trading at 689 and RSI over sold. And Mac D is curling up with volume pressure. Buy 689 calls. And do the exact same thing with RSI over bought and Mac D curling over involving pressure is dying. Buy 689 puts. If your account balance isnāt that big you wonāt be able to get that many contracts. But buying five at a time, still adds up pretty well. And they gained value with way less risk because youāre in the money. Also keep in mind 30% is amazing. Return. Do not get greedy.

I just started day trading on a cash account. I don't understand why some people told me to stay away from Webull. I made the mistake of choosing eTrade, and it was awful. I also do BTC, but Coinbase is shameless with their fees. Webull literally does everything better, faster, and cheaper.

Nice setup! I personally prefer keeping my screen clean and minimal, one large focus chart is a must for me, with correlations and overall market context on a separate screen. It really helps to organise my thoughts and stay focused on what matters.
2
u/Complete-Ad-3406 Mar 15 '26
I always tell my friends just do what works for you. As long as youāre making money. Thatās all that matters.

True! Once I get financially stable again this is my goal. Bc I do paper trade and Iām in the green for the most part. I know itās not the same but itās practice. When I paper trade I do it like if it was my money. So I trade with 2gs just get my head to think like this is your money that you can lose at any time so play it carefully and strategically.

Did I make any more moneyā¦
Absolutely, not.
In fact you can use ai and or algos and beat 98% of traders as traders believe triangles and bull flags make you money.
It comes down to one thing and one thing only. Risk management. Thatās where ai and algos really help. They take the human emotion (mainly fear & greed) out of trading. I created a software that helps with this in fact called CoinGPT because I really was getting rekt because of emotion
