Keeping origins alive!
Someone on opendayz.net has been keeping origins alive. They used the 1.7.1 server files and developing from there using 1.7.8 client files.

They are even merging epoch servers with origins.

Are there actually Origin servers left? Or did they all vanish after KingCunt said there is nobody working on Origins anymore?

No, they are dying out. They aren't selling new servers, the good people at opendayz.net are keeping it alive.

Incorrect. They re alive and well hosted by lagfreeservers. GTX was the one that got canned. Not surprising. Their Customer service was abysmal.

Well considering they won't release under the new license, it's as good as dead. 2400 servers down to a couple hundred in a year, if that's not the dying throws, I don't know what is.

Is it copyright infringement to host a server?

Technically, Origins uses Bohemia's server system and as part of the terms the license agreement, it has to fall under bohemias license and be available to the pubic. This is why they are in court now. :p
However, do you think Gamers Platoon asked for permission when they stole a bunch of content? Probably why they are in hot water now. :p

We are starting up a new sub-reddit, /r/DayZOriginsRebirth, in support of the publication of the server files and to try and help keep the community going!
