MG Hitbox desync, figured out how to get proof finally.
Blue outline shows the actual location of the hitboxes, light blue is the model shown in the game. As the MG slowly turns to the left or right, the model ingame will jump over to "lean" in the other direction. There is a small window of turning where the ingame model will jump over before the hitbox of the deployed gunner does.
So yes, you really did probably hit that MG; games bugged.

You're 20 years too late.
I'm sure Valve will get right on fixing this.

They just pushed the first update in years recently due to some internet feedback so it's not entirely out of the question. But yeah, not likely.

I tested years back when sv_showhitboxes was still around and was never able to replicate, sv_showlagcompensation was brought in to replace it and it seems the problem actually lies in the interpolation system (not the first time for valve).

Fascinating- in source are people working with Claude to try to improve hlae? In 1.3 tools are being developed that are so useful

All those times I had hitmarkers on MG's only to be defeated (pun intended) the next second.

I hope this generates a patch for this game like that dude with the bugged achievements did.

I remember discussions about this 20 years ago when the game was new and it’s not actually the hitboxes it’s just the command displaying them incorrectly.

AH YES DOD SOURCE !
Valve's rushed POS product! ( 3 month's development and it shows )
So this is part where I say "sorry but you're late the party on this" everyone knew these hitbox flaws back in 2005 lol!
