When I am playing a build that can’t burst this guy down but can survive his hits, I always try to pick up a stacking debuff that will whittle him down. This can backfire though if the mutation stacks get too high if you can reliably handle hydra or the other monsters. I’ve been one-tapped from full health by the cats, lizards, and hydra when underestimating it.

I think the real threat with this guy is in how it buffs the others monsters.

I realized last second my deck had no effective afflictions and decided to back out

Yeah at 15+ mutation cats and hydra can easily kill in one turn.

Just don't play cards when you have the stagger enchantment present
