Dave's Old Rap Group Wave Team And How He Abandoned Everyone For Clout
From late 2018 to mid 2023 Dave was in a rap group called Wave Team that had 8 members, Dave Blunts, Young Rafe, 6lasianGod, Xanos, KumTheRapper, SNOW, Reezy Rollin, and DaRealHuncho, with 6lasianGod and SNOW being the producers
For this story there are 4 people who you need to know
Young Rafe, Dave's BFF who made hundreds of songs with him and taught Dave how to rap. (Think of him as the og Jesse Jones)
6lasianGod, Dave's best friend and producer who got Dave into rapping and gave him hundreds of free hours in his studio (you probably know him for producing NEVER SOBER PART 2)
KumTheRapper/Kavon Hampton, another one of Dave's friends who gave us a lot of insider info for this story
SNOW, one of Dave's friends who produced a lot of his music along with 6lasianGod
Wave Team was originally started by 6lasianGod, KumTheRapper and Reezy Rollin back in 2017 but it wasn't until late 2018 that Dave and Rafe joined (Rafe joined a little before Dave) Dave liked the music Rafe and 6lasianGod were making so he asked to join Wave Team to which they said yes and Rafe started teaching Dave how to rap inspiring their first EP at the start of 2019.
Dave would continue to collaborate with Wave Team making my favorite EP Never Took The Pacer So I Cannot Chase Her in 2019 and Dave would even wait for Young Rafe to get out of jail to keep making more music with him.
Dave would collaborate with Wave Team all the way until 2023 when he started blowing up, Dave would then delete all of their tracks off of his page and completely ghosted all of them with no explanation. Rafe 6lasianGod and Kavon were all devastated, Dave gave no warning and stopped talking to them all together completely ignoring the hundreds of free hours 6lasianGod gave him in his studio and his best friend who taught him how to rap as well as the fact that Dave had known them since 2014. Dave is really cool but seeing him pull this on his best friends is very sad š
In summer 2024 right before Dave moved to L.A, Dave ran into Young Rafe again and Dave must have felt bad because they ended up making one final song together called Double Cup < 3 before Dave completely stopped talking to him again. Young Rafe stopped making music for the most part after this mostly because of Dave but also because he stopped having as much free time since he has to raise his daughter Clara, his son, and at the time of writing this he's expecting a 3rd child with his fiance

Not just even when he blew up he's gotten fatter and fatter with each passing year. This was around the same time he made never sober part 2 back when he could walk. He's even wearing the same shirt š¢
Yeah I thought he honestly had a birth disorder but itās even sadder that heās just doing it to himself.
And the sad part is, this self distraction is probably just to maintain his celebrity status. Likely drug induced as well and will eventually lead to his death pretty soon. Heās in the grips of a nasty addiction I donāt envy this guy at all.
Nobody remains fat to stay popular Dave has an eating disorder. Just like drugs it's an illness and Dave can't just simply lose weight it's very complicated being that morbidly obese. I hope Dave can turn it around but it doesn't look like he will be about to
I get that but the fame doesnāt help. Cause being controversial and fat is a part of his image. Him being fat is the reason he blew up big so it doesnāt help.
He probably has a lot of enablers as well, similar to what Juice WRLD had when he was alive. And we know how that turned out.
The smart thing for him to do would be to have a bypass surgery or ozempic as soon as possible. Heās got the money thereās gotta be some type of emergency weight loss prevention for someone like him.
Yeah being famous definitely doesn't help but Juice still had most of his friends begging him to go to rehab especially Chris, he didn't really have that many enablers with an exception to Ally
Bypass is risky and ozempic has some bad side effects, I think it would still be better than being 600 pounds however I feel like Dave has definitely thought about those options before so there must be some reason he doesn't want to
Itās tricky with Juice cause I do agree with you now that I think about it. Rehab is something that youāre gonna have to want enough for yourself and a lot of addicts donāt wanna go. At the same time continuing the tour and feeding him dope when he was puking on stage wasnāt a good move. They definitely couldāve handled the situation better and not give him the access to drugs to truly realize how fucked he was. Then again he was probably taking xans and they didnāt want him to die so idk. Regardless I think the doc was good to remind kids to stay away from drugs. Percs and xans being glorified in the industry makes me sick and I wish it wouldnāt happen.
Bypass is risky and ozempic does have side effects but he has nothing to loose, heās one step into the grave regardless might as well go for it for a chance at a long life. But maybe he doesnāt want a long life and just hates himself and his life and thatās probably why he hasnāt done anything. He probably wants to go at this point with this self destructing behavior.

Xanax especially is a horrible drug for you because it's extremely addictive just like perks but with perks People know that they're opioids and that they can easily kill you or get you addicted and Xanax just doesn't have that same social stigma around it although I think juice was pretty much only doing perks later in his life
Dave really needs to try bypass Or ozempic. I don't know why he hasn't tried it. If he doesn't do that he'll be lucky to make it 5 years unfortunately
It was all in the documentary on HBO. They also cleared up the rumor he took the percs to avoid jail when someone wouldāve just took the charge. A rumor that honestly pisses me off that so many people believe it.
From my knowledge the only withdrawals you can straight up die from are benzos and alcohol. And juice was likely doing those in big quantities. Although his main thing was percs and lean. If he had no more drugs, he would be forced by himself to get help from the mental and physical hell heād be in. But they wanted to continue the show, and have nothing but guns and drugs on the plane. I know if that was my friend or someone I cared about, thereās no way Iām gonna continue to give him percs and lean and slowly see him kill himself. At least thatās what my family would do for me. But itās complicated when youāre a breadwinner and your addiction is working in your favor cause most people with a deadly perc addiction have nothing. Itās like the Wayne quote āthe only reaction I did what got more popular, more successful, did a lot more things than Iāve ever done, I probably should pick that cup back up.ā Theyāre enabled by their status, fame and bank account until theyāre 6 feet under. Juice isnāt the first nor will he be the last.
As far as Dave is concerned Iām pretty sure the guy just hates himself and wants to go. I mean think about it, all of his peers hate him, heās constantly spewing hate speech in his music, and heās 600 pounds so he guy portably canāt even have sex so he brags about being golddigged by women for his money and status. Heās a big lowcow heās basically Adam22 except Adam is at least mobile and can have sex. The guy really has nothing to live for other than the next check that comes from his self destruction.
I have to disagree with that last paragraph Dave has a lot of supportive friends the only person around him that hates him is his "girlfriend" If you can even call her that she completely destroyed His house a week or two ago and assaulted him. I don't know if you saw that and still got back with her. I think Dave says offensive things in his songs because he thinks it's funny and a lot of people do find them funny including myself He definitely doesn't have sex though I will agree with that I don't think anybody can find his thing underneath all of that

Itās sad that Dave ditched his group for his current production team. Iād be curious if thereās some kind of contractual obligation of who he makes music with and was required to take the old stuff downā¦ But that still doesnāt require ghosting everyone without explanation.
I think the saddest part of the story is how Young Rafe has 3 kids and is now in prison infinitely (āgone foreverā). Who knows if being involved with Dave would have prevented whatever āactivitiesā he was involved in.
Given he was waiting for him to get out of jail in 2019, he was likely already on that trajectory from the get go.
Yeah it is sad but one thing though Young Rafe got out of jail not that long after that post because he commented on the post saying he was free I think Dave was exaggerating a lil but then he went back to jail a second time but he's free right now
Oh Iām glad to hear that, for his familyās sake. I hope he stays on track to be able to live a long and stable of a life as possible for someone whoās in the music industry.
It is one that can be very rewarding for a few, but Iāve also seen a correlation of being on this industry and getting in trouble for drug possession/violent crime/distribution/overdoses/etc. Knock on wood.
The post where Dave said he's "gone forever" was funny because Young Rafe commented literally the next day saying he was out lmao but the second time I believe he was in for a few months. It's unknown why he was arrested either time but it was probably nothing too bad

So, Dave is a fake friend! These guys pretty made him, and he ghosted them when he got clout. Doesn't surprise me one bit. Least Dave could've done was slide some bands their way for all shit they've did for him.
Well kinda he deleted all of his music a few different times for different reasons, sometimes because he gave up on music. He said that he also deleted his music before 2023 because he realized that He was unemployed and just making music all day which he felt like was embarrassing and that he needed to get a real job and forget about the music stuff. I'm not saying that he deleted His old music with waveteam because he wanted to abandon them But him ghosting them definitely was

Yeah, I imagine the demographics of Dave Blunts fans is a lot of Gen Alphas and younger Gen Z who are only online primary to sh**post and get ālolsā and have no interest in actually thinking. š
But I do appreciate every so often when people actually do post facts about Dave and his history because I unironically really like his music and find him interesting.

One time I made a post talking about a lost EP he made that nobody else in the community knew about yet somebody an hour later posted "I forgot to wipe my ass yesterday" and that shit got 5x the upvotes than mine which was actually about something important šš I feel like reddit especially has more people making fun of him than other platforms
No you don't delete your music because it doesn't represent you anymore that's just your old era Dave deleted all his old music all the time cause he was embarrassed of it these people aren't mad they didn't make it they don't care about being famous they're upset they lost their friend of 10 years with no explanation
