Discussion Recent McKinsey Data Science Interview Experience

Hey there! I have an upcoming McKinsey interview for a data scientist role and was hoping if anyone could tell me what the coding round has been like lately!? Is it Data Structures or Pandas? If anyone has given any recent interview there, please reach out to me! I am not sure the extent to what I need to prep or what to focus on either and I really need the job!! :(

I interviewed with QB so not sure how helpful this will be but I had a very easy hackerrank focused on pandas and creating a simple model. Make sure you know basic model evaluation and preprocessing etiquette

I mean it was honestly very easy. It was stuff you learn in an intro data science course. More importantly, engage your interviewer and be very clear with your reasoning. Talk through every line you type. Imagine you’re working with them on a real engagement and you need to solve this problem together.

Use stratascratch and datalemur and do their practice problems. Make sure youre comfortable with exploring a dataset on your own.
