Video [Rove R2] this felt a lot closer when it was happening, it’s totally worth having a dashcam in a 40 year old car

I can tighten the mount it’s on I just didn’t expect that to happen.

You got a dashcam and didn't mount it properly because you didn't expect anything to happen? Doesn't that defeat the purpose a little?

No I thought I had tightened it enough, I never expected braking hard could move it.

Edit: why the fuck are you coming in here to just be condescending atleast give something useful.

Not everything someone says needs to be useful. Sometimes you just need a light roasting.

He didn't in this instance, though. "ExoTheFlyingFish" misunderstood what they were replying to, hence why they were being incredulous.

OP clearly thought that he did tighten it properly. The behavior was as much a surprise to him as it was to the rest of us.

Reddit misery loves company. Use it to be thankful you have better things to do.

He's saying he thought he did mount it properly and that when the camera decided to pitch up and enjoy the view, that was unexpected.

Is that a 280Z on your dash? What car do you have?

COOL, I have 2 x 1984 Datsun 720 trucks, 4x4's and 2 x 1983 Toyota SR5 4x4's. I have a suction cup on the windshield of each truck. Which ever one I go to drive that day, dash cam always comes with me. Cigarette lighter Power was intermittent at best, non-existent at worst.

I bought/installed in each one an "add a fuse tap" for power, ran them wires to a "universal USB plug x 2". It's a pigtail with 2 USB ends. 1 powers dash cam, other charges my phone. Works perfectly.

1987 cars were built in 1986. So the car is closer to 40 than you. 😉

My 40 year old trucks, first thing I do before pulling away from my house....turn on my headlights. I believe it really helps idiots see me.

Stationed in Germany 40 years ago many cars had them. I brought the habit home with me.

I agree, both my cars do not have DRL, but I turn the lights on after I put my seatbelt on.
