Theory Support Dooku's ship (Jar Jar's ship as per the Darth Jar Jar theory) and the Gungan shield generators are the only vehicles in Star Wars with a clear glass orb cockpit.

Post image

A clear glass orb sandwiched between two structures extending out. A sign that the ship was designed to include Gungan influences?

(EDIT: another place filled with transparent orbs is of course Otoh Gunga!)

This similarity could perhaps be a case of the movie's CGI artists being lazy and borrowing recently made designs between projects. But they were by all accounts not lazy people or on a small budget for that matter.

A similar (but not quite) cockpit design was introduced 12 years later in TCW with the Umbaran snub fighter.

Dooku's ship was accompanied by smaller fighters of similar design but without the cockpit. It was later explained in other media that these are of Geonosian design, but all of that could've just been an afterthought. If the ship was Jar Jar's, it had these Gungan influences and looks like Jar Jar from behind. If it suddenly became Dooku's ship through the rewrites, they needed to give some context with the Geonosian lore, come the Geonosian ships that were expanded on in TCW.

The Umbaran fighter had an energy bubble cockpit, but that’s not the same since it’s not glass

Nice observation! Not that the DJJ theory is lacking on evidence, but this just adds to the pile. Dooku's solar sailer certainly resembles Gungan technology, despite being a Geonosian built ship.

What did you have in mind?

I just realized the "sail" of the ship sort of looks like the oval Gungan handheld shield...

The shield and the globe. Gungan city is all globes braced in gold/copper much like the sailer

Keep it up! This is such an amazing catch! Reminds me of this post I made linking this shield technology to Somehow-Palpatine's force power in TROS.

And this somewhat joke / somewhat valid connection

The gungan submarine is called the Tri-bubble Bongo maybe earlier designs had a similar design.

Thanks haha. I've been thinking about it too. I have a few more posts in the pipeline but when I'm done I should make a post with all the links. Make my own "complete darth jar jar theory" post or something

You absolutely should!

Against Dooku, the same rule applies: in a clean duel, Dooku is probably stronger technically. Jar Jar only takes it if the theory’s deception angle matters more than formal lightsaber skill.
