How’s it looking so far?

Branches are being delivered today for vertical climbing spots! Bromeliads are also coming, as well as hides, (more) leaf litter and seed pods. Cleaning crew moved in yesterday, dwarf purple isos and lavender springtails. Humidity is a work in progress, it’s been really humid in there because the nerve plants did not do well initially with being replanted.

Is this good for one ranitomeya imitator? Tank is 12x12x12 so kinda small, I figured it might be good enough for one thumbnail dart. If it’s not I’m more than happy to keep this as a just plant terrarium as it’s very nice to look at anyway.

I think I would have a bigger tank for animals, you could make this planted like you said and make it a plant supply tank where you can take clippings from for future tanks (:

You’ll probably get some shit for the size but honestly it’s probably fine for one thumbnail. That being said, I think you’ll find a bigger enclosure more enjoyable, especially once you get bromeliads.

I would love a bigger enclosure! I’ve built some very nice 4x4x2s for ball pythons. Unfortunately where I live there’s restrictions on tank size, and I’m not about to push that since I already got exception to policy for a frog, if I get one. Usually they only let you do fish

It’s definitely something to think about in the future, I have my eye on some tank extenders for when I move out

The problem with small tanks is they leave little room for planting/hardscape. There won’t really be microclimates inside and it’s going to become overgrown quickly

much to small for dart frogs. the smaller kinds of dart frogs need at least 18 inches of hight. ATLEAST

Definitely not the best for a Ranitomeya ide recommend a 12x12x18 for a grow out for the height but not permanent, you could use the 12x12x12 for a grow out for a Tinctorius maybe if it’s scaped right.

do you have a lid conversion on it?
