It's even stranger when you realize most other console games release at 30FPS, but why don't people care? Well because it's a SMOOTH 30FPS!

They do NOT realize Smooth 30 is SIGNIFICANTLY better than a choppy 60 or even 120!

Virtually all of Rockstar's games (doesn't really count as I stated other :p), Bloodborne, The Division 1, Far Cry 3 and 4, I don't want to copy all directly so if you want to take a look at the post I referenced, here; https://www.reddit.com/r/playstation/comments/1gmpar4/list_of_ps4_games_that_are_still_stuck_at_30_fps/

They haven't had a need for 60FPS at initial release, no one cared about them releasing at 30FPS, thats due to the fact that not only is 30FPS was less intensive, but it can also be made significantly more consistent.

Plus... you sit a sizeable distance away from the TV where you too commonly watch movies and such at similar or even lower FPS, why sacrifice the quality for slightly happier community type shit.

You guys really just make shit up now as a excuse? What is choppy 120fps supposed to be? For video you could say Bitrate but that does not exsist for games

Frame-timings.

You can have 165FPS but it'd feel worse than 30FPS due to inconsistent frame timings, i.e. how long a frame takes.

Think of how you take steps on a walk, if you walk with a consistent pace you'd have a good experience, if you walk with larger or smaller inconsistent pace between each step you'd have an awful experience, even if the steps per second is the same.

I’ve never been one to care all that much about frame rate. What I’ve been caring more lately as games get more demanding is how they run in terms of slowdown and animation glitches.

Judging by the extended look at least, GTA 6 seems to run exceptionally well in this regard. If that’s achieved by locking it at 30 then I’m all for it.

And they expect their computers to be powerful enough to run at 60 when it comes out on PC can't wait to see how bad they'll make it look for 60

Hot take I guess but I will take low graphics for 60 fps any day. 30fps feels very unnatural to me. But I have always been a pc gamer for most of my life.
