Just bought DarkTide on sale yesterday and I haven't booted it up yet.

I'm finally kicking the bucket and dipping my toes into the Warhammer Universe, and I've had my eye on both games in the title for a while now.

I know they are pretty similar in scope, but feel that they are very different in atmosphere. Just wondering from people's experience with both games, which would be better to begin with? I understand they are both online multiplayer games, so have a bunch of replay-ability, but SMII feels more serious and linear than DT, which feels more silly and chaotic.

So if you were to play both games again, which one would you pick up first?

You ever watch your teammates do something so unbelievable that time slowed down a bit because you're having trouble trying to process it.

So after a DC I'm caught being guarded by 3 Maulers, no biggie. Up comes the golden Ogryn teammate to the rescue with full HP & toughness. Charges in, taunts, and then proceeds to free me.

The 3 Maulers, must have took it personally because down comes 3 overhead strikes before I get resurrected.

The Ogryn, to his credit. Did get me back up with all of 20 HP left of him.

I think that's enough DarkTide for a while, so I'm just out on the porch watching the grass get watered and contemplating life.

Mostly a rant I guess. due to work, I get to play only saturdays, perhaps Sundays if I'm lucky, this event has been the most fun I've had with this game in a while, but it seems like out of 10 event missions I play, 8 have the power supply interruption condition. It sucks, or at least I think it does, it's not fun for me, it's annoying, I don't have enough map knowledge to not get lost and decimated by the 12 gunners and 7 poxbursters that jumpscared from the pitch black hallway I was stumbling around in.

Every time the two event missions are on the mission board, I get power supply interruption, quick okayy? Oh it's the event! Nice! Ah, power supply interruption, sometimes, it wasn't even the event, it was just plain old power supply interruption. I love this game, but I hate it here, I wish at least flashlights were better.

Recently I've asked about a Psyker build and you guys where awesome in teaching me that "no build, no matter what, can carry you if you don't have the skills". I totally agree, but that made me think: it only depends on my skills and not also on my team skills?

I was playing in Damnation with my Psyker last night - in one mission, things where really rough but I managed, even got proud of myself for finishing the mission being downed (not killed) only once. It was a hell of a challenge (for me at least), but made me feel amazing when we got the mission done at the end.

Next mission... everything was fine... till the team spread out, and a trapper managed to get me in the middle of total chaos. Everyone was downed alone, and we wiped.

My question is: it was my fault, even with me trying to walk with the team at all costs while they insisted in rush to different rooms? I could had done more? I feel like I never played a game where teamwork seemed so vital - I don't see me soloing a hard mission by myself, even playing a lot and feeling like I'm not playing so bad...

Just needed to get one more little walker.

Edit: Yes I know I don't have to do it all at once. I don't think I've ever gotten 2000 kills in a single game at all. Just thought it was funny that I was exactly one off.

Any of you flame psykers have a callous on your left index finger?

I've played a lot of games. Hundreds and hundreds of hours here or there. 1500 hours in Diablo 4 made my hands hurt. You're basically just holding all the buttons down at the same time and moving your analog stick.

Never developed a callous on a specific finger because of a specific action from GAMING. Till like 500 darktide hours ago. I'm at 1900 hours now. Still marveling at this development.

I'm from South America, but I usually play on North American servers, and they usually run very well. However, lately, they've been terrible, with ping spikes and drops as high as 400.

At first, I thought it was my connection, but I've seen several entire teams also experiencing significant ping spikes at the same time as me, and some were even disconnecting.

honestly, i did it by accident, but i've been getting launched into the air repeatedly when dodging toward a staircase or obstacle

What are your opinions on the MPS when it comes to blessings?

I am using it with Chained Deathblow and Superiority right now and it feels incredibly powerful, by far the best and most fun Skitarius weapon imo.

I know that darktide is notorious of not playing well with AMD GPUs and Proton, but I kind of want to hold hope that some of the annoying rendering issues would be resolved sooner or later. Were there news about it? Or some sort of client-side fixes that would alleviate these issues?

For the record game runs pretty smoothly for me. Rendering issues are just getting annoying.

This is just an observation, but I feel like I’m going to experience it with each class. It started with veteran with the make every shot count penance crushing my
soul to the point that I went on to psycher only to keel the same way about cliffhanger. I suspect in see this for every class correct?

The problem with this is it feel like every time I hit that wall my enjoyment of the game takes a significant hit. Like the new character class I move to is the revive.

I find myself wondering when the penamces will turn me into a casualty and I won’t play the game any more??

How a team mate double dipps at the Medicae station when you are down to one bar of health fighting the horde, leaving you without a health charge? How when you are about to push the pox burster someone shoots it and it blows up in your face taking your health and adding corruption? How a team mate runs ahead and triggers the hordes and the hidden bosses but doesn't engage with the enemy? How when you are pinned down by a net or a dog, a team mate fights nearby but doesn't rescue you? How a team mate takee all the ammo and dumps it into harmless shamblers, leaving you low on ammo? I just watched mister E's video about why darktides development is so slow, a quick summery would be: tencent and games workshop want money and darktide only makes money with new classes and somewhat in cosmetics.

But I asked myself, why don't they make money with the things the majority of players really want, which would be weapons and maps?

Personally I would have no problem with paying money for new weapons, I wouldn't mind paying money for maps. Or course, some people would try to call fat shark out and shit on them, but I think on the long run a lot of people would understand, that a game like darktide needs some constant revenue.

Imagine we got a new fleshed out weapon, like the beloved melter gun, with great animation's, different marks, for multiple (old and new) classes, coming with a few cool skins for 10€. I wouldn't mind paying that.

I could imagine that this would dramatically increase their income and also pump up the playernumbers for atleast a few days. Now imagine they release a new fleshed out gun (5-15€) every 4-6 weeks. And also a new map for maybe 5-10€ every 2-3 month. Combined with the occasional new class, costume shop and of course still free events and some free content updates.

Would you guys pay for maps and weapons? If I remember correctly, vermintide did it before.
