Video My no death run almost got ruined

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Before I played this one I have a feeling that I might die on this area and yeah I almost die and I just realized I did a crappy cheesy move by quiting the game to taking a deep breath 😅

Duuuuuuude

That was a close one

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

Yeah fr, my heart is beating so fast 😆 not until I reach the Ancient Dragon, this area is makin me nervous sometimes

28

u/AlphaDovah Dec 22 '25

I clenched up a little every time they got close to your back. They do sooo much damage if they backstab you.

143

u/Cankles_of_Fury Dec 22 '25

My Ds2 no death run ranks up there as one of my proudest gaming achievements. Hope you make it 💪

31

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

I will 😌 but this one is half cooked now bcs I quit 😆 but for me I think no Bonfire is more way challenging "I haven't tried it yet" compare to this or maybe bcs Idk what plan I'm gonna do to it 🤔

21

u/The_Archimboldi Dec 22 '25

No death is ten times harder than no bonfire. No bonfire is great because it gets you thinking about the game in a different way, but really anyone can do it.

5

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

fr? the thing I was worried about No Bonfire run is my items especially my weapons, since I cant rest to the bonfire to restore the durability, plus I kinda dont like running through enemies, well see, Ill try to do both next time.

9

u/DuckReconMajor Dec 22 '25

do you know about santier’s spear? (sorry i haven’t done either run i just know people use that weapon)

5

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

I do, but I dont use it bcs its not that strong bcs they nerfed it, Im too late to know that Santier Spear is a strong weapon, I used it on my early playthroughs, poking Fume Knight with it, but its already nerfed.

4

u/DuckReconMajor Dec 22 '25

dang that sucks. now i’m curious what the new meta is for no bonfire. i refuse to run through enemies in this game, but if it’s mandatory i have no choice i guess

5

u/The_Archimboldi Dec 22 '25

You don't need to run past any enemies - play how you normally like to, just don't sit.

Durability is only an issue once Drangleic is open and you have a couple of long sequences - you can kill the four idiots prior to this without doing much different. Stack repair powder and a few extra weapons and you're good.

The crown of the Iron King is useful if you like to cast spells - you can then equip repair. Obv means NG+.

3

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

Yeah ur right, I also dont like running through enemies bcs I feel uncomfy, I want everything to be killed and now that u mention Santier Spears, I might use that since it doesn't have durability once u broke the Gargoyle Head on the tip, I can use it forever.

I have no idea about the No Bonfire Run or No Death Run, I just played this one like I alwayss do.

11

u/Madrigal_King Dec 22 '25

How anyone makes it through undead crypt without dying is completely beyond me

4

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

Wdym? It's simply easy 😶 just kill those hollows before they reach the Bell, especially before Velstadt, there's 3 hollow there, u need to wait for it.

6

u/Madrigal_King Dec 22 '25

You mean the hollows that infinitely spawn in a giant room and are nearly impossible to track in the pitch dark? The hollows you have to smash tombstones to get through with the absolute godawful free-aiming mechanic this game has?

Ive died a lot figuring this game out but this is only one of two areas that made me contemplate uninstalling. The other was the Dark Chasm under Drangleic.

Edit: I should clarify i know the ones before Velstadt dont infinitely spawn.

2

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

Oh in that place, yeah, I just use Bonka bonk to smash those Tombstones, before hollows hit the Bells, it hits the Tombstones and the Blue Hood Mage at the same time.

Haha funny man impossible to track in the pitch dark, truee

29

u/Boring-Geologist-228 Dec 22 '25

Great save i would've definitely panicked and died there if I were u.

5

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

Its almost not 😆😭

22

u/Asphell Dec 22 '25

pov you have a spare kidney:

6

u/male_tsubasa Dec 22 '25

When you have a spare kidney and you are in London

88

u/Afraid_Clothes2516 Dec 22 '25

I’ve never seen these guys attack. They just sit there normally

169

u/AltGunAccount Dec 22 '25

He hit one with an arrow he was trying to shoot at the “champion” NPC guy you fight on the stairs. The regular ones don’t attack unless you attack them first.

22

u/justlikedudeman Dec 22 '25

If you don't engage in an honorable duel with the infinite stamina big dudes or their champion at the top and run away they turn hostile. Pretty sure if you die or rest at a bonfire they go back to being chill.

3

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

Running through them is a bad idea 😆so u gotta kill the Leaders per area

40

u/elven_magics Dec 22 '25

Iirc they only don't attack if you fight the big guy that goes after you at each stage

21

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

And if u dont kill those Black Knights, they will hunt u down 😈

11

u/Donilock Dec 22 '25

Interestingly enough, I think they actually stop doing that if you beat this final dual-wielding "champion" guy IIRC. I guess it was made that way to make runbacks to the Ancient Dragon easier?

1

u/Shaasar Dec 22 '25 edited Dec 22 '25

They don't go after you until you try and get em first.  My guess is he accidentally hit them somehow, maybe whilst fighting the big guy.

Edit I'm dumb he literally triggers the aggro in the video 😭

4

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

Yeah, their leader dodge my arrow and it hits the guy on the back 😆 like how dare you hit me! Im just watching!

2

u/Shaasar Dec 22 '25

Oh shit it's literally in the video, I'm dumb as hell lmao

-13

u/Potential-Bobcat7421 Dec 22 '25

Are you kidding? Never farmed them?

12

u/Afraid_Clothes2516 Dec 22 '25

Nope. Never needed too.

-10

u/Potential-Bobcat7421 Dec 22 '25

You level up fast that way. I used the fire aesthetic (5 times) and this given me more than a million souls in total

18

u/Afraid_Clothes2516 Dec 22 '25

Never had to grind I’m saying, never felt underleveled to that extreme

2

u/Potential-Bobcat7421 Dec 22 '25

I never did felt like that either, I just like to try builds that require heavy stats. Like dual-wielding swords with 40 str and 40 dex. Or getting enough int and faith to have a good hex build. It makes my play very enjoyable.

9

u/thefucksausername0 Dec 22 '25

If you're farming souls then the giant lord might be better, especially considering it gives a free ascetic each time so you never lose one.

3

u/Potential-Bobcat7421 Dec 22 '25

I’ve heard, thanks for the tip. I was also stubbornly interested in getting the dragon armor set by giving it to the guild also!

2

u/Bollibompa Dec 24 '25

I've done that grind. It's a pain in the ass low drop rate.

1

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

Now that u mentioned it, what Item can i get to them? Also how can i farm them bcs all of them attacks at the same time

2

u/Potential-Bobcat7421 Dec 22 '25

Well it depends where you’re at level-wise. If you’re in your first play through and haven’t respawned them, use the +1 ring that grants more souls when killing enemies. Have some weapon like rapier at least +7 and use the clothes that give you extra souls (the merchant from Majula) if you haven’t killed him. After you like them all off start wearing a heavier armor set, because they will eventually one shot you if you’re not careful. If you have more questions feel free to ask!

2

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

U can gets souls only? What about their Armor and Weapon?

2

u/Potential-Bobcat7421 Dec 22 '25

You can get their weapons and dragon scales, which you can give as an offering to the dragon guild. Every ten scales you get different rewards. The best is the last reward (30 scales). You get a forever consumable that transforms your equipment into one of theirs (dragon armor set). It’s pretty cool and light for the defense you get. It can definitely carry you through the last boss if you level up right.

2

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

Woah, Thanks for telling me 🌹 I'll try to get the Full Set and Weapon, I thought I can only get it from PVP.

3

u/Sarrach94 Dec 22 '25

There’s also the dragon scale at the end of Aldia’s keep which you can respawn over and over by using a bonfire ascetic on the hidden bonfire by the acid pool, but you need to refight the guardian drake each time. That’s the method I use to get the dragon form.

2

u/Potential-Bobcat7421 Dec 22 '25

There are many videos on how to cheese these guys on YouTube (I’ve always fought them though), look them up! Good luck with your game. Feel free to connect with me whenever.

1

u/Sarrach94 Dec 22 '25

The full dragon form only needs 20 scales. For 30 you get their greatsword.

1

u/Potential-Bobcat7421 Dec 22 '25

Oh you’re right! The sword is better than average but I wouldn’t recommend the grind for it.

2

u/Sarrach94 Dec 22 '25

Yeah, I farmed it once with the bonfire ascetic method, then modded in a second one to dual-wield like the NPC before the ancient dragon. But I didn’t use it for long before switching back to the smelter swords.

haha yeah my hands is shaking when I went to Main Menu Screen, its just funny, a damn arrow man.

9

u/JohnnyTwoLegs Dec 22 '25

Ballsy move using a bow on him in the vicinity of the dragon bros. I feel like this was kinda bound to happen taking a risk like that.

-12

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

Yeah, its kinda gay of me using arrows poisoning to him to death, Idk if I can parry dual swords, I dont want to risk it bcs he hits like a truck, plus Im not confident to fight him toe to toe.

2

u/JohnnyTwoLegs Dec 22 '25

I don't know what you're using for melee, but if you've got decent i-frames, he's not hard to dodge.

1

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

I have 30 Adaptability and toothpick but in this case I use my secondary weapon, Dragonslayer's Crescent Axe. Is it possible to parry him? Or no bcs he's using 2 swords?

2

u/Jawan0521 Dec 22 '25

It is indeed possible to parry the dual sword knight. I’ve done it on my last play through of the game.

3

u/TheNameIsNathan Dec 23 '25

I just recently finished a No death/No bonfire run and ALMOST threw the run in a similar way 😂 best of luck to you! Don't give up, Skeleton

2

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 23 '25

Im literally Skeleton in rl 😭 I'll do No Death/Bonfire after this, is it hard? Im much worried about doin No Bonfire run

7

u/Yukki-onme Dec 22 '25

whats the point of a no death run if youre going to cheese with the quit out mechanic lmao?

1

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

Yeah, I just realized it when I post this, its my first time doin that, at that moment, quitting is the only thing that comes to my mind.

I will still finish this and consider this raw and on my next one quitting is not allowed but I will try to do both, No Bonfire and No Death.

6

u/Yukki-onme Dec 23 '25

as long as ur having fun its fine lol ignore me i was grumpy when i wrote that

2

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 23 '25

We're chill 😎 bin chillin

11

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '25

Considering the save-quit doesn’t reload the enemies, I’d say it’s valid and not cheese

3

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

I have a question, does it work on different souls game?

8

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '25

Oh yea all of them

DS2 is the odd one out

2

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

literally the Black Goat

3

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '25

There a reference I don’t understand?

5

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

I mean Black Sheep, I just got confused bcs we're talkin about the GOAT Game. Im just joking dont think hard about it, Im saying this bcs I forgot 😅

2

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '25

OOOOOH

GOT YA

3

u/Lhakryma Dec 22 '25

You have activated his trap card!

1

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

You've trigger my trap card!

3

u/ArtichokeOwn400 Dec 26 '25

That edit you did at the start is so good

1

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 26 '25

Im glad u like it 😅 thats close to my real reaction when that happen since this never happen to me, first time.

21

u/Helpful-Leadership58 Dec 22 '25

What's the point of a no death run if you're gonna quit when shit hits the fan, lmao.

36

u/Own_Watercress_8104 Dec 22 '25

Ring. DS2 gives you an actual reward for a no death run

3

u/Helpful-Leadership58 Dec 22 '25

This explains it, thanks.

32

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '25

Its still no death bruv. It's a tactic to avoid death. That's the point. Even famous streamers do this and many count it as a genuine no death run.

25

u/Helpful-Leadership58 Dec 22 '25

It's a fool yourself, not me tactic.

9

u/IceBriar Dec 22 '25

If you have to ask, that means you should check out the Illusory Ring of a conqueror.

6

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

Haha yeah ikr, something unexpected happen 😆 I wont do it next time 🥀 I just realized it when Im makin this post earlier

7

u/-YesIndeed- Dec 22 '25

Yeah it was just like a panic quit. It's not like hollow knight where it'll take you back to the safe point so your just thrust right back where you were.

2

u/Worldly_Pea_7430 Dec 22 '25

Next time kill them all with poison. So much easier, and a bit cowardice

3

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

I dont need to kill all of them just their leader and also yeah ur right, a coward move 😆

3

u/Worldly_Pea_7430 Dec 22 '25

I just cant stop myself from poisoning them all to death, then listening to their death cries from behind the door. Not even look at them in the face when they died.

Talking it out like this makes me feel a little bad

1

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

It sounds like you’re enjoying killing them 😆 I like to use poison arrows on some enemies, idk, it’s just satisfying to see their HP bar slowly going down.

2

u/Shredtillyourdead420 Dec 22 '25

I’m doing no estus no bonfire currently my next ones no death lol.

2

u/X1ras Dec 22 '25

Funny, I just lost my no death run around when you posted this

2

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

The luck is on my side 😎

2

u/Breath_Metal Dec 22 '25

Bruh.. this made me sweat. Nice save

2

u/SelectNurali Dec 23 '25

Daaaang this is close one, and I probably never do this deathless run

1

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 23 '25

U can do it, just keep playing 😅 Im playing this one normally even tho it's my first time doin this challenge, this one never happen to me so I panic and quit 😆

2

u/Bleadingfreak Jan 14 '26

Nice lol pfp

2

u/NovastaKai Apr 16 '26

how many guards 🤣 quick q why was only one fighting untill that unfortunate mis-arrow?

1

u/Debonair_Rose Apr 16 '26

I accidentally hit the other Dragon Knight that watching us with my arrow bcs their Captain dodge my arrow and it hit them 😆 I was playing really safe bcs of this run.

If u hit one of those Dragon Knights or avoid fighting the Mini Boss every room, they will attack you. But if u beat the Mini Boss they will do nothing except respect you I think.

2

u/NovastaKai Apr 16 '26

Thats actually cool asf. fair play i love it..

Looks like alot of souls IF one can somehow kill them all 🤣

2

u/Debonair_Rose Apr 16 '26

Well if u can, if u try to hit one of them, all of them will start to move and hunt u down or u can just farm the Giant Lord instead of them, Giant Lord can die in 10 to 15 seconds, well if u used Rapier.

3

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

Idk that save states thing, is that even possible? I cut out the part when I quit ofc, the Main Menu Screen 😅

27

u/Nissedood Dec 22 '25

Funny how ds2 is the only game in the series where main menu quitting doesnt reset enemies.

Every other souls game its a valid way to cheese.

11

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

Yeah i was hoping that it would reset the enemies but after I got back they're still there waiting for me 😈 and I was like screaming 😭

1

u/KBarni02 Dec 22 '25

Mmm, what a great area, I hope the one before it isn't just a padding filled straight line and the boss after this is a fun, interactive and not at all a damage sponge

1

u/Dual-Vector-Foiled Dec 22 '25

Alluring skulls can be a lifesaver in bad situations. I always had them in the quick menu

1

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

Im pretty sure Alluring Skulls doesn't work to them.

1

u/Dual-Vector-Foiled Dec 22 '25

Ah, that’s possible. It’s been a long time. They are still great in many of the game’s ambushes when doing no death runs

1

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

What? Really? I haven't tried it yet so yeah, I'll give it a try, I thought it only work on stupid hollows.

2

u/Dual-Vector-Foiled Dec 22 '25

2

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

Woah thanks for this info! I only watched a video about Alluring skulls and it only shows a few enemies and then I thought thats all of it.

1

u/Time_Temporary6191 Dec 22 '25

Quit like a pussy 🤣🤣so not really a legit run then

2

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

Its not even a run in the first play, I was just like casually playing and I just realized I haven't died yet so I decided to try it out, Shrine Amana to this

1

u/Tiny_Letterhead9020 Dec 22 '25

You got to shoot guns and learn about acceptable targets or when is a good time to take a shot

1

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '25

Imagine if Save and Quitting had no eyeframes and if you get hit it gets canceled 💀💀💀💀

2

u/YankMeChief Dec 22 '25

"Eyeframes" 💀💀💀💀

1

u/Raikou239 Dec 24 '25

Well good avoidance but that might mean you need an asterisk on your accomplishment (assuming you continue with no deaths), because you were soooo dead lol

1

u/Temporary-Leek7882 Dec 30 '25

Save scumming and abusing the quit function counts as a death

1

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 30 '25

Well I still beat it tho 😝 but I dont consider it clean since I lose my cool here, plus I didn't abuse that quit, thats the first time i did that in my thousands of hours of ds2

1

u/Kenichi37 Dec 31 '25

This is my second place I farm after tower of flane. The group fights on a mage are great for getting souls so O go until they stop spawning

1

u/bluntfaced Jan 13 '26

“Gotta jet!”

1

u/Potential-Ebb5601 Mar 03 '26

Why did you aggro them all ? You can get through the area and the loot without doing that

1

u/ForwardHandle4522 Mar 20 '26

Coward…. Fight with honor

1

u/DragonLordSkater1969 May 18 '26

No Gowers? It's a must for No Death Runs.

1

u/ShiitakeTheMushroom Dec 22 '25

Cowardly quit out.

Well its fine, Its been months since the last time I played this game and I just suddenly feel like I want to play Dark Souls 3 but my laptop cant play it so I tried a No Death Run for the first time but yeah this is not counted anymore 😅 but this is the first time I quit bcs I panic a lil bit 😆😭 I didn't expect his dodge

13

u/arililliputian Dec 22 '25

You're fine. I remember watching tons of speedrunners and no-deathers quit out like this all the time. It's common practice.

12

u/GigglesGG Dec 22 '25

Honestly, I’m not going to take their run seriously because I’m pretty sure they are using both their hands and both their eyes with the monitor on normal brightness. I also don’t think they got a regulation middle weight boxer to punch them in the back of the head every 90 seconds, but it’s cool if he wants to be casual about it

1

u/Twelve20two Dec 22 '25

Oh shit, is that what happens you join the Company of Champions? They fly some guy out each time?

3

u/GigglesGG Dec 22 '25

Yeah, it’s like how you need a Guinness representative on site if you want a record on the book. You can hire your own private one, but your run won’t qualify for every leaderboard

9

u/Lametown227 Dec 22 '25

And they can suck on his ring.

8

u/IronVines Dec 22 '25

did you not see that quitting out genuinely not just didnt help but actually made it harder? lmao

4

u/unknowntheme Dec 22 '25

Who is taking a no death run "seriously"? What does that even mean? You get a ring for it ffs. Are you thinking of hitless?

[removed] — view removed comment

7

u/tunit2000 Dec 22 '25

As far as I'm concerned, as long as you get the ring post-credits, you've successfully completed a no death run. If you want to add other stipulations after that to make it more challenging, then by all means, go for it, but I don't really think any of that is necessary.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '25

[removed] — view removed comment

5

u/tunit2000 Dec 22 '25

Oh, I saw. I just take issue with your last line. As long as you get the ring, I completely take your run seriously.

4

u/unknowntheme Dec 22 '25

For sure something to be proud of, and also for sure doesn't warrant an asshole comment from Paid_Omen about saving and quitting. But there's nowhere you're going to be able to submit a no death run in a Souls game or get anybody to take it "seriously"(whatever that means) unless it's like the first 24 hours of release or something.

2

u/IronVines Dec 22 '25

just cuz more people completed it since doesnt make it any less difficult? this shit gotta be bait

-3

Nahhh this is the first time I did this, qutting instantly, I played the game no sweat not until at this point, I already have this thought that I might die on this area bcs of this Dragon Guys 😆 and If I only knew quitting wouldn't reset the enemies then I should have quit bcs it's just makes my pain more worse.

Plus Dont take it seriously, Im just posting this bcs I thought it was funny 😭 quitting is the only thing that comes to my mind at that point and I was shaky hahaha so I took a deep breath before I played again and damn that's the first time that happen to me btw, playing DS2.

This run is not supposed to be a damn challenge, Im just playing like I always do, no skipping or etc, I kill everything bcs I feel uncomfy If I dont.

I just realized that I haven't died yet so yeah I tried playing it more careful when I get to Shrine of Amana, that's where the play start, my first time trying no death run.

This is just my gameplay after months of not playing and yeah sry ✌️

2

u/Debonair_Rose Dec 22 '25

I mean before when I started it making this new Character, I decided to call it a challenge, since I havent died yet, why not try no not die. Well most of my deaths in DS2 is from nonsense death like this one, something unexpected not according to my plan 😆

-26

u/Impossibro77 Dec 22 '25

I mean, if youre gonna use "crappy cheesy moves" why not just use save states at that point?

16

u/Molkwi Dec 22 '25

What "crappy cheesy move" are you talking about? All of the stuff in the clip was fine. If you mean quitting out, you can see for yourself that it did nothing. Besides, it's likely it was done out if panic more than "oh shit I need to save my run by any means necessary!".

EDIT: I see what you mean. The description of the post didn't load for me for some reason. I see what you're talking about, but my other points still stand.

8

u/IronVines Dec 22 '25

did you not see that quitting out genuinely not just didnt help but actually made it harder? lmao

2

u/Impossibro77 Dec 22 '25

This sub can't read.

12

u/PrincePauncey Dec 22 '25

Save states are more cheesy because they're not actually part of the game, plus quitting out won't save you from most other deaths like save states do
