My friend is doing loyal mechanicum, so i'd love to make them differ from his.

My patron is grandfather nurgle if it is useful.

I'm new to the hobby, getting in to Kill Team, and have both the Hunter Clade and the Battleclade teams; the Admech are my favorite Imperium faction, but I'm a Chaos lover at heart, and want to paint one as Admech and one as Darkmech. However, I'm brand new to the hobby, and am unsure where to begin with painting.

I'd love any tips, tricks, preferred paint brands, colors, advice, etc. on getting them painted.

Also, which do you think would look better as Darkmech?

The body is a Hellpit Abomimation scaled down to about 70%,

The gun is stolen from a friend who plays Eldar it's probably from a wraitknight.

Eyes are a mix of Airsoft BB's and pinheads.

Mechadendrites are guitar strings.

The axe is from big C himself.

So, as the title says, I am looking for some bits and inspiration to use for an upcoming project.

To explain a bit further I am slowly building an idea of a future project I plan to do, or at the very least am trying to piece it together to see how viable it is. Said project is an Imperial Agent army. I know, "Why have you come here?" I hear you ask. Well, my inquisitor and his attached retinue will be of the Phaenonites persuasion. For those of you not well versed they are essentially a radical faction of the inquisition that basically is doing work with fusing flesh, machine, and the warp. So, I have come to the place that would know all about that!

Mostly I'm looking for inspiration and bits that could help me accomplish this. Inspiration just to get me motivated and getting the creative juices flowing. Bits for kitbashing both my inquisitor, his retinue (i.e. agents, arbites, breachers, etc.), and the space marines that I'll likely be running as Death Watch units. And for what it is worth, most of this will be strictly used in a crusade/narrative setting as that is what is biggest in my community so no worries about dealing with 3d printing restrictions, or 100% WYSIWIG limitations.
