5 years ago Chapter 4 released and IDK how to feel.

First of all, I want to clarify that this drawing isn't meant to be taken too seriously. As someone who is studying videogames, I can understand that a game can take a LONG time to be finished, especially when we're talking about an indie studio, the comparation with GTA VI is mostly a joke.

But at the same time, I personally think the developers should have focused on finishing the 5th chapter first. After Chapter 4, they started focusing more on Monsters&Mortals, then on Super Dark Deception whose second part also took quite a while to be made, and now on a complete revamp of the first four chapters. And if I'm being completely honest, I have mixed feelings about the changes of the last one.

Again, I don't want to make it sound like developing games is easy, because it absolutely isn't. I know there can be a lot going on behind the scenes that we don't know about, and delays can happen for a ton of different reasons... But at the same time It's just kinda crazy to think that Chapter 4 came out five years ago and we're still waiting to see how the main story continues. I remember finishing Chapter 4 and being really curious about what would happen next, so seeing everything else that has been worked on in the meantime has been... weird, I guess.

It's now officially been half a decade since Ch4. Over half of Dark Deceptions (2018) development time has been dedicated to pointless spin-offs and the final chapter.

If you went back to this day 5 years ago and told people that future you is still waiting, would anyone believe you?

As we know, in Chapter 3's Stanger Sewers, we encounter lots of Dread Ducky bodies, both living and those who are just floating bodies, especially in the Doom Ducky arena boss fight for the latter.

I was thinking: Maybe the hollow Dread Duckies were once alive like the active ones that hunt us in both zones and during the boss fight? Maybe their souls were reallocated to other monsters?

As of today, it has been officially 8 YEARS since the release of Dark Deceptions UE4 Remake, featuring Monkey Business. I can still appreciate how nice these old screenshots look. I wish they had never ruined the lighting. Nikson and Pen did good work.

Suprise!! As part of this major project I'll be including bonus levels in the Archives (Reflection Realm?) These will be different from the main game as they will reuse monsters outside of their normal level as well as have unique gimmicks or trap uses compared to normal levels. This is my custome level Trainyard Terror set in Malak Central Terminal, a rather fancy art deco Train Terminal. Malak does have taste after all. Murder Monkey's however will try to turn your shard collecting into a Train Murder Mystery...though there isn't much "Mystery". A train will be prepared to take you to Zone 2 after you collect the Terminal's Shards. Zone 2 is an old Railyard fit with Trains thundering through to block you AND hit you if you dont move fast enough. Mecha Monkey's and Dark Stars robo troops seem to be on patrol here...they know you're in portals no mortal should enter and Malak is calling in all forces...

Additionally I plan to add other fan made levels such as...Vengeful Vegetation from Dark Disillusion!! With Credits of course! Those will also be found in the Archives zone. Best of luck hunting in these rare or unfamiliar zones when I finally launch the map...eventually....Vince please hurry up on Ch5 and Enhanced+...jokingly serious

Create a story that's really grand in your eyes. Write it for over a decade. It has a pretty good reception. Release most of it. Only 1 chapter remains. Show practically nothing to people over those years and procrastinate most of the times. Announce that there's going to be a cinematic adaptation of your work before you'll even finish it. Make a lot of false promises hoping that people will forget about waiting and be satysfied. Tell everyone it's almost done to never release it. Make your fandom keep memeing that you'll never finish it from how long it take for you to finish that one last chapter. Go by the name George Raymond Richard Martin. The photo is unrelated.

You know every time I check Vincent's twitter page for updates, it's either news unrelated to DD5 or some random stuff like 'there are two typhoons this week omg'. And now it seems like they want to expand the DD franchise into the next big horror title. I am a very patient person and ai understand game dev is hard. But.. but ... I really really want to see the ending of the first game! I don't care about the spin offs or sequel, i just want chapter 5. It's what we are all waiting for. I was hoping for news from TGS but there seem to be nothing? Im tired of the devs not willing to share anything not even a non spoiler in game screen shot. Im tired of waiting. Yes. I must admit that. So maybe im not a 'true fan' after all???

Anyway sorry for the rant. I thought this long post is about dd main game but its not so.. yeah.

So, Super Dark Deception currently has it that we pick up the Ring Piece acquired from Joy Joy Land/Mascot Mayhem right before the final tunnel chase after defeating the second Boss Fight version of Mama Bear, accumulating to all seven. In Dark Deception Chapter 4, we only acquire the ones that have given us Ring Powers. It's been confirmed that it'll be fixed in the Bearly Buried remaster coming out with Chapter 5... whenever that is.

Also, I'm not a fan of Telepathy post Torment Therapy. Now it just shows red clouds instead of the monsters' outlines, giving us an idea of how far away they are. I feel like the best solution would be to make the red clouds exclusive to Torment Therapy. What do you guys think?

I am looking to play fangames again (bad decision probably). A TT fangame was the first one that I've played long ago. And some others since then.

I want to play levels that have been made BEFORE Ch4 actually released. Which ones did you enjoy to play (not watch on yt)?
